So after watching the newest halo 4 video by 343, I was wondering what people think about the new Spartan IV's??

Here is the video

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Seems like a pretty weak idea to me. Oh look, a brand new Spartan program, who didn't see that coming. I mean if this was years later then sure, but it's pretty recent in Halo's timeline.

Yea, I am REALLY looking forward into how they are going to explain this, and also how they are going to explain John's new armor look. It is going to be really interesting.

wow...fail...I did not see the post basically similar to this a few scrolls down.... -_-

To me it seems pretty simple as to how they are going to imcorporate it.

Spartan IV's derived from Covenant and Forerunner Technology. 343i has mentioned that humans are very effective at inovation when not on the brink of extinction.

Reach for Halo!

Its like you stole my words straight from my mouth...are we...Long lost BROTHERS?
In actuality, they dropped the idea in Grasslands and 343 loves the story so why not throw it into the game. And we will prob know more about IVs when Karen writes the next book...God, Please make this one good

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I just hope we can play as Spartan II's, Spartan III's and Spartan IV's in multiplayer.

I guess they'll come up with some stupid reason for this. I'm sure they just said they'd explain it to get us all happy and stuff and start exaggerating things.

Then again, I haven't read Glasslands so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. It could make perfect sense. I don't know.

Technically Covenant Tech came from Forerunner Tech, the predecessors to the re-claimers, A.K.A. the humans, but I would have never thought of that...I like it. (Hopefully I got my facts correct)

P.S. Workin' the Morgue

Bring back the halo 3 scout helmet and I have no problem.

I love Halo and video games. I started a business called "70MGame", I setup LAN events, tournaments, and Midnight Launch Events. Check us out in the link below.

I grew up playing Halo CE and have never stopped loving it since. I have one of the biggest Halo collections you will ever see with the crown jewels being life size statues of Master Chief, Kat, and Emile. Im hoping to have the entire Noble Team soon as well as other Halo statues

If they're trying to add a backstory to multiplayer then Spartan IIs or IIIs wouldn't make sense.

But we have no idea how deep they are going to get into this ''explanation''. They could just say ''Oh, it's a combat simulator''.

And it's done.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

I think it's a cool idea. I'm anxious to find out the reason why red spartans are fighting blue spartans.

I'd prefer to play as a Spartan 2. Spartan 4's are just normal humans in super suits. The MP is basically an Iron Man FPS in that aspect.

What made the Spartans who they are (for me) was the fact that they were physically superior humans. Without that they just aren't Spartans in my eyes.

However in terms of gameplay I doubt it will make too much of a difference seeing as how everyone will be on the same level. And with all the armour customization (that I assume will be as extensive as Reach's) I can pretend to be a Spartan II.

In terms of the story however, I don't like it.

343i has stated on multiple occasions that humans are extremely innovative and possess the ability to incorporate Forerunner and Covenant technology. However when waging war on all fronts and on the brink of extinction it is hard to implement technological advancements. However, with the Human-Covenant war at an end and extremely vast amounts of new information and technology discoverd it is only logical to assume humans have begun to incorporate this new material into their current way of life. As a result this new information/tech can be used to advance military means. That would explain the extremely advanced and almost forerunner like look of the Spartan IV's and Master Chief, the colonization vessel at the end of Halo: Reach, and the advanced look of the potentially human vessels in Halo 4 concept art.

That does not give you the right to instantly assume those elements will be incorporated especially forerunner elements of all things. I would advise you to wait until it is explained how they are incorporating forerunner technologies and where they are getting them from before instantly assuming every Semi can turn into optimus prime because of the elements gained from a recently ended war.

I think he's not so much assuming as he is proposing an idea. It is possible, considering all of the things that humanity would have discovered during the Human-Covenant War. I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but it's possible. Considering the UNSC Infinity used technology from both Covenant and Forerunner sources, and it was commissioned in 2553 after years of construction, surely , in a similar time frame, technology could be adopted from Covenant sources and Forerunner sources into a spartan program.

Last time i checked the forerunner additions to infinity were to be included after They found out about the shield world, not before and quote the text if i am wrong.

Reverse engineering covenant technology isn't a big deal because we know they are focusing on the shields and armor plating. You let me know when they understand how plasma pistols work.

And as i said before, the forerunner reverse engineering gig needs a lot more explanation before we run around using that as a explanation for everything.
