Poll: Do you think Bleedthrough should have been removed/ modified/ stayed?  [closed]
Removed. I hated bleedthrough. It catered to n00bz:  24%

Modified. If mele was less powerful it'd be fine.:  49%

It was fine as it was. I luv punch punch :DDDD:  24%

I don't care.:  2%

Personally I think it was a good idea that was poorly implemented.
The mele made it able to put a few rounds into someone with the AR and punch for an easy kill. This catered to those of lesser skill in my eyes, rather than attempting to balance gameplay.
If you were on full shield and one block of red health from a previous battle, all it took was a punch to kill you regardless of any other damage taken.
I'd be happy with a return of bleedthrough but a less powerful mele.

Bleed through should have stayed. In an ideal situation, bullet bleed through should have been modified.

Melee bleed through was 100x better than Reach's default herpaderpa system.

I'd attempt to judge your style of play through stats and medals but you don't have your account linked D:

Modified or removed. Reach's weapon sandbox was not built with the idea of bleedthrough in mind. If you change one thing, everything else has to change with it, or the game won't feel right.

Opinions are like butholes. Everyone's got one, nobody wants to hear about it.

The game actually felt good with bleed through though. Before bleed through, I'd never use anything but the DMR or a power weapon.

With bleed through, I'd go around and I could use the AR, plasma pistol, plasma repeater, etc. They had their purposes - most of them as melee extensions, but that's a whole helluva lot more skillful than just double tapping the melee button as you sprint around a corner.

I'll give an example to help you.

Halo CE-3= Player A has 30% shields(50%health), Player B melees = Player A is dead as the melee damage took out the 30% shields and 50% health as the melee does 100% damage.

Reach= Player A has 30% shields(80% health), Player B melees = Player A's shields drop and his health is still 80%.

Polls not biased or anything.

Retardedly at that.

Bleedthrough to me feels out of place in Reach but I can deal with it in all the other Halo games.

Exactly. It made those "weapons you see, but never pick up because you have a DMR" more valid, as they are good at picking through shields, where you could land a pummel.

And I hate the sprint+double melee combos. Why not 3 melees, for those who don't support bleedthrough?

Pretty much. But nah, we don't want that variety round here. We'd rather just have more DMR and power weapon only encounters while herp derping each other with double melees. Ah, Reach.

Mate? No wonder you're retarded, you're a foreign f.ag.

What a nice chap you are. Shall we stay on topic here?

You brought up my user name as a rebuttal, you took your own topic off-topic, retard. I mean mate.

Idk, I'm on the same side as goat on this one. The game wasn't made to have reduced bloom and/or bleedthrough. A useful metaphor- your car is in a bit of an accident, and a ton of paint is scratched off. After going through repairs, insurance stuff, etc., the shop repaints your car with a similar, but not exact same color.

I'm rambling now, but you can see my point. If they reduce bloom or add bleedthrough, they have to adjust every other thing in the game to keep up with the new settings.

True, there were still things wrong with the TU, but removing bleed through didn't help the game. It just keeps the DMR as an overpowered utility weapon.

They made the game about as good as it could get with the TU settings given the original game was lolDefault Reach. Hopefully 343 has used these past few months as good experience for how Halo 4 should play.

Yeah, I definitely hope 343i looks at what Bungie did wrong, and right with Reach.
