Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

All that we have heard about them from Bungie is that they are:
Q: What's a Sharquoi?
A: Very freaking dangerous.

If you look them up on Halopedia, you are redirected to the Drinnol page. I doubt that the two are one and the same because of the context of the Conversations of the Universe booklet, which said
Excerpt from Elite Conversation
Pattern or no pattern, these defenses must form some kind of perimeter. I believe that we are forcing the humans into a tighter arena than they care to fight in... perhaps we will soon be able to use the Sharquoi.

In this context, I don't see how they could be referring to vehicle-smashing hulks that need to be fed constantly to keep active because they have no body fat. Anti-vehicle units could be used in any ground combat, so why would the covenant hold onto them? I think they're some sort of special-ops squad the covenant plan to use to eliminate the UNSC's leadership. What do you think?

From the tablets we have see all of the covenant shown except for one, the largest one. We don't know for sure but I think those are the Sharquoi. Maybe the Covenant only chooses to use them in the last stages of battle, because they are few in number or difficult to handle.

Where did you find this, and where did it come into the storyline?

Its from the special edition DVD. I believe as part of the deleted scenes. Here is a list of all the tablets.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

considering the age of abondment was when the forerunners left the aliens that would be the covenant (i.e activated the halos), that thing is a monkey.

I talked about this awhile ago, and I don't care that your talking about the same thing, gives more people a chance to hear about it. What we came up with was that the sharquoi was mabye the drinol, a huge beast ! We could be wrong, but the coversations of the universe says," soon we way be able to unleash the sharquoi." It makes it seem like its huge and bred to kill !

Found the exact quote on Halopedia
They continue to lose territory, and pattern or no pattern, these defenses must be part of a perimeter. I suspect we are forcing them into a tighter arena than they care to fight in-soon we may be able to use the SharquoiThe wording of this just gave me the impression that they weren't an entirely new species.

That's cool! Maybe the model was made by bungie but they desided not to put it in the game. (reminds me of half life for some reason)

Maybe its held in reserve because of one of two reasons:
1. Its difficult to handle.
2. It serves some religious purpose.
After all we are looking at religious tablets.

The Sharquoi is the Covenant name for a Elite.

Taken from Halopedia:

The Sangheili, or Elites as the Humans call them, are the iron heart of the Covenant military.

When you look up Sharquoi, you are redirected to the Drinol:

The Drinol are Covenant bosses that did not make it into Halo 2 and it is unknown if they will be featured in future products. It should be noted that a large Flood form has been found encoded in the Halo 2 disc in the same way as the Engineers of Halo 1, this could be the infected form of a Drinol.

Do some research before you post something like this.

The Hunter are the Lekgolo. The Sharqui is rarely deployed in combat, it could be that Drinol is our name for the Sharqui, but that doesn't seem likely. Drinol also sounds like something that the Covenant came up with.
