Subject: HELP!! Issues with the Race gametype

So I've created a race track with only one checkpoint to use as the finish line. The map works fine as far as being compatible with the Race gametype in custom games, but whenever one lap, and one lap only is completed, the race is ended. I've tried fixing this by setting my number of laps to 3 and 5 in the game options menu within the custom games menu, but it still only lets the race be played in one lap. Help anyone?

Add more checkpoints, you can't use one.

^This^
Should sort of fix the problem (also make sure that there is no way to camp said checkpoints)

One more thing. I've created a loadout camera on the map in forge mode to act as a timer for the race to start. The problem is that there is no actual loadout screen before the race starts. It just immediately starts the race. I've created at least 2 loadouts, not hidden, for both spartans and elites. I figured it was probably some settings in the forge mode on the camera itself that I was missing, but nothing I'm trying is seeming to work. Any ideas?

I placed a camera in the forge mode. The loadout camera is what gives you a view of the map just before a match starts and also gives you time to choose a loadout before the match starts. I was going to use this as a countdown timer to start the race. The problem is that despite having placed the loadout camera, the game is not showing the map from the loadout camera and is not allotting time to choose a loadout, thus not producing a countdown effect and immediately starting the race. To remedy this, I thought I would try actually creating loadouts for players to choose from, thinking that the loadout screen wasn't coming up because all the loadouts were set to "hidden" in the "game options" menu. I created the loadouts, and then made sure they were set to "not hidden." I can further prove I've done this because if a player falls off the track during the race and dies, then the loadout menu will pull up for him or her and he or she will have time to pick their loadout while they are waiting to respawn. So I know that there are multiple loadouts to choose from. The problem is that despite having the loadout camera on the map and loadouts to actually choose from, the loadout menu is not loading before the race starts and is therefore NOT acting as a countdown timer for the race and thus is allowing the race to immediately start when I start the game from the custom games menu. I'm assuming there are some options that I simply haven't tried in order to fix this problem, but rather than spend a million years trying every little thing that I think might fix this problem, I figured I would post on here.

Can anyone help me?

P.S. In case anyone is wondering or not understanding me when I'm talking about the loadout menu BEFORE a game starts, think about when you play online (if you do) and how the game doesn't immediately start once the map has loaded for all players. Once you enter the game (before it actually starts), you get a view of the map you will be playing on and along with that view you get a loadout menu that allows you to choose the loadout you would like to play with once the game starts. I'm NOT getting this despite having placed a loadout camera, created loadouts to choose from, setting those loadouts to "not hidden" from the "game options" menu, AND making sure that when I select the camera in forge mode, pressing X to pull up the "Initital Loadout Camera Properties" menu, and then selecting "Advanced" to pull up another "Initial Loadout Camera Properties" menu that has options such as "Spawn Sequence", "Game Type Label", "Min Count", and "Max Count", I have made sure that the option "Place at Start" was marked "True". Perhaps it has something to do with the "Game Type Label" option or the "Game Specific" option that both appear in the menu that pulls up when clicking "Advanced" in the "Initial Loadout Camera Properties" menu in forge mode....

I hope I've made myself clearer here. Again, can anyone help me out?

I have just loaded the map in Slayer mode and the loadout camera worked. Maybe the Race gametype just doesn't support the loadout camera...?

I have 40 Checkpoints and laps are just fine. That isn't my problem.

Is the loadout camera set to teams? you wouldn't want it to be if its ffa

Alternatively you can put a small ledge at the start and have a ramp spawn after 5seconds for an even start :)
