It's not the last game, it's the last of the first story Arc, so they still won't be lying if they decide to make more games.

Halo: Forerunner
* You play as a Forerunner (human) soldier during the initial outbreak of the Flood, and must go through different times of conflict while playing as someone much like a SPARTAN * (Forerunners hadenergy shields, and a human version of the Elite's armor.)
* It would help us understand the backstory more, and allow us to enjoy replaying other Halo games because they would be more enjoyable (to me anyway)

How about no?

Halo 0
It follows the Events of [i]The Fall of REACH
and you play as John mainly, and occasionally Linda, Kelly, Fred, Will.
--How cool would the hot-drop onto REACH be?

Halo: Revisited
I just know that a remake of Halo CE would be the greatest..
* Same weapons
* Same physics engine for a base, but add onto it so scenery is interactive
* More levels (like the events in The Flood)
* Better graphics
* More ships (Phantoms, Occasional Spectre, Seraphs would be shown in the beginning)

Halo: A UNSC Marine's Story
Would take place from the end of The Fall of REACH, when before boarding the PoA, Johnson, Jenkins, and Bisenti are trying to destroy the stealth ship - till the end of Halo Combat Evolved, and follows more events from The Flood
--you play as an ODST, and occasionally take control of Flood Combat Forms, and Flood infection forms.
--More lifelike, while still keeping Halo's whole "feel" while being able to use more indepth squad controls, and strategies, and use Wellsley instead of Cortana.

Halo: First Strike
It follows the Events of First Strike, you play as John. And you could snipe as Linda in the Hierophant

Halo: The Multiplayer Chronicles
--It would basically just be a standalone multiplayer Halo game, with all the maps on disk, and constant suport from a Bungie team dedicated to the game.
--New weapons, and maps would be introduced via Xbox LIVE downloads rather than from new Halo games, though new Halo games would still continue to come out.
--Would contain all maps, weapons, and more game modes (like survival, etc.)

How about NO? Heh heh, it's not Star Wars buddy....

Exactly - it's not Star Wars. Halo's story is much better, has more fans today, and would sell more. It's the reason the Xbox did so well.

More Halo games would be great, and they left a loophole in their answer cause they're most likely looking forward to recreating the books, and maybe the first Halo with better graphics but same gameplay.

How cool would the hot drop from The Fall of REACH be if you were actually in it? Whatabout the scene of MC fighting the Spec Ops Energy Sword-wielding Elite from First Strike? Howbout playing as McKay from the Flood on Halo...killing the Flood during the first outbreak...

living the story. That would be many Halo fan's dreams, obviously you just want it to end cause you think it would get worse with each installment, when that's the exact opposite. halo has an incredibly well thought out storyline and can be built upon from anytime prior to Halo 3 (You could play as Forerunners..they were pretty much an Elite or Master Chief..), or play through the books' events..delve into the vast story.

Right....it isn't Star Wars. Halo's story is better. Which is why it doesn't need to be ruined by a bunch of sidestories most people probably won't even care about. Bungie isn't the type of company to just milk their franchise. No no no.

Sidestory? It's simply linking the games together. A prequal, a sequal, and a remake. How the hell is that "milking the series" if the whole story should be told?

Not sure if you heard, but Bungie stated themselves that Halo 3 was the last of the series. No prequel. No sequel. No nada. End of story. Therefore any other game relating to Halo would be a sidestory , therefore Halo would get boring and repetitive and blah blah blibbity blah.

They said Halo 3 concluded the Story Arc meaning there would not be a sequal to Halo 3, since all the loose ends will be tied up. Now we still have those three (soon to be four) novels, and the Ancient Forerunners that we could add to the story Arc..

Oh yeah, because Bungie ALWAYS tells the truth right? Come, on you can't possibly be that gullible can you? Bungie never shows all their cards, and more often than not they signal the exact opposite. Remember all the Halo 3 denials?

If that's not enough, just look at this from a logical standpoint. It's the biggest brand in Xbox history, it's worth MILLIONS upon MILLIONS. It has easily generated in excess of a Billion dollars in revenue through direct sales and indirect sales. You would have to be a complete moron to shut down that revenue stream after only 3 releases.

Do you think Microsoft is stupid?

Please...

Subject: Look at Mario and Zelda

Halo's a hell of a drug.

Look at Mario and Zelda, people stopped buying their stuff because Nintendo kept making it. Also they stopped Resident Evil at RE3. Then there was the Tomb Raiders and Burnouts and DOA. Splinter Cell.

Wait a minute, these are all franchises that are still live and kicking and doing very well. I'm amazed that people still buy Mario which lacks the story that Halo has and the action. It will do good because it has become a gaming icon.

First, the Legend of Zelda is one of the greatest games of all time and will countine to. Also, who buys Mario for the storyline??? People by it because it is a basic fun game.

Now on Halo. I think after Halo 3 bungie should make a new game. But, every 3 or 4 years bungie should make a new one ( maby just for multiplayer)

End of the story arc. It doesn't mean there wont be any more games set in the Halo universe.

IMHO, end the story before it gets stale.

bungie is screwing with us. there are 6 instalations (halo's) LEFT.

there will probably be a cliffhanger at the end. halo has made the most money of almost any xbox game. even though there is the ark which is supposed to control all 6 halos (the first one was destroyed) you will probably get more halo games. but u shouldnt even think of any more halo's right now since halo 3 doesnt even have a release date yet.
