i don't really like the arbiter.

I don't understand why people want bad game back. Head hurts from attempts to find reason.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

Because the overwhelming vast majority of Halo veterans know that it is a good game.

I also miss the communities, it was more than just a game on a disk. You had to be there (in your head). The train left the station without you, no big deal to us.

Looks like we were better off without him anyway.

Because the actual Halo fans are the only ones who realize what Halo 2 really is.

I for one do not subscribe to the belief that there are true and false Halo fans. Rather, I distinguish them by community because like religion, where you start off determines one's tendencies.

H1 and H2 community
Classic (trilogy + ODST) community
Reach community

Anyways,

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

I am really disappointed with the trolls these days. I remember when some use to be somewhat clever and worthy of a topic.

Yup, where have all the fierce trolls gone...long time passing.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

I blame the economy.

somewhere in the heavens...they are waiting. I love the Marathon Trilogy.
Halo CE will always be the best game in the Halo franchise. What a perfect game.
(Proud LONGTIME owner of the PC and Xbox versions of Halo CE)

This game is missed becuase it was the pinnacle of Halo multiplayer(although I'm quite fond of CE's multiplayer too...). It was a lovely community, the maps were amazing and very replayable. Lets not forgot the amazing campaign! Dual weilding was fantastic, the clan system was nice and easy to use and organize people who liked playing together. Did I mention the maps? THE MAPS! Quite amazing.

I don't think the greatness of Halo 2 will ever be replicated.

Because it's better than Halo 3 and MUCH better than Reach. I have much more fun playing this on XBC than I ever will with Reach or probably Halo 4.

Good post, I forgot to upload this so here's more stuff to do in CMP:javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("ctl00$mainContent$postForm$skin $submitButton", "", true, "forum", "", false, true))

I recorded this for the song, another reason we love this game:

Going into a bit of a rant over people placing themselves into specific groups within the community here. Placing it into a quote so you can get past it just for the on topic stuff if you prefer:

I think it's beyond ridiculous to put yourself into a specific group. Saying that your beliefs are the same as others around you most likely means you're just basing your feelings somewhat on the emotions of others rather than looking to what you truly feel. That's why most people in these sorts of "fan groups" tend to have such extremely one sided opinions.

I don't hold myself to any specific group at all. People tend to want to place me in a group myself, but they all end up failing at it; they, of course, think they succeed at it, though.

Certain members of the Halo PC community see me as a Halo 2 "noob" for liking/playing Halo 2. Many in this community see me as a Halo 2 "troll" for having the opinion that it's not as great as Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 3 in certain aspects. The Halo 3 community thinks I'm a noob with no 50. (Had to do have a joke in here somewhere.) That's just the Halo communities. An example outside of that would be the console vs PC groups. Console groups think I'm a "PC master race" type while some of my PC friends scold me for owning, and enjoying, playing console games.

You can have negative and positive opinions on something. In fact, if you do, that shows that you're an objective thinker. You can step back and take everything into account without getting your feelings involved. You don't act like a fanatic for one side. You can have negative opinions on something while still enjoying it at the same time for its positives.

OT: People miss this game because they enjoyed it. Opinions differ between people and if you don't accept differences in people that makes you a part of the intolerance that plagues this world.

One game I'm not joking a little like 7 year old said and I quote " tell me what your dick looks like so I can imagine it in my head and beat off to it"

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

It was fun.

Maps, gametypes, gameplay, vehicles, weapons... not much else to explain. The rest were hardly close.

Cause its the game that started the home console online genre. HALO 2 is the godfather for todays online community. It was the 1st game that featured the friends list and clans. It paved the way for the future of gaming, i think alot of people like myself wish the "the new online community" was like it was when HALO 2 came out. The trash talking that these kids talk online these days is rediculous. They act like u have to win all the time and get a 20-0 death ratio on evrey game u play. And if u lose or stomp them in a game then it really sets them off. Gimme a break its just a game, your suppose to enjoy it and hav fun with it, not nit pick out every negative thing that happened in a game and take it out on 1 or more random teammates. I remember when HALO 2 came out, i would work during the day and stay up all night playin online and on the weekends play for 16 hrs on just this game. Back then everybody had ther mics on in the prelobby talking, looking for new friends, new teams and having a good time and most importantly having a decent conversatiopn with someone u didnt know. Those were "the good old days" of online gaming. you dont get that in todays online gaming, i miss those days. As far as HALO 2, this game was great in my opinion. There was a reason why i played 6690 games online, it was that good. BUNGIE kept updating it with better gameplay and maps for a different experience every time. And speaking of maps, back then the maps would be free after a couple months the map packs came out, now its about the money. HALO 2'S CAMPAIGN was and still is awesome, i popped my HALO 2 disc in my 360 on Monday for the 1st time in years and started playing the campaign. I still get goose bumps from playing the CAIRO STATION mission, hands down the best intro to a game in all of games. I miss the old days of this game so much. BUNGIE please bring this back in your new game.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

Because it was fun. Why else would anyone want it back?
