I seriously believe the enemy is mainly going to be ONI aka Office on Naval Intelligence.Because they are known to set up at installations like these and known to sacrifice UNSC personnel.Think about it.It definitely shows in the books, games, and minifilms from waypoint.

I LOVE YOU!!!

I'm thinking a covie superbaddie sangelli + bugger (wings) + prophet combo with a army of current covies following breaking off by species as in game rebellions occur tied to storyline. Order follows: sangelli, hunter, grunt, jackal, final battle, boss

Highly unlikely. The Halo anniversary terminal 5 added more questions to be answered in the coming trilogy, none of which had anything to do with ONI. It can be decided that the occupants aboard the crashed ship died in the crash.

I believe ehe Human Covenant war was caused on the behalf of an AI. The covenant have always been noted to only innovate Forerunner technology. Several times through out the span of First strike to halo 2 and the terminal 3 in CEA has such a frustrating AI been mentioned.
San' Shuymm seem like the religious types that would follow the banter of an mysterious Ai such as this.

i think the enemy is going to be the precursors based on what primordium said along with that video 343i made that is up on halo 4 follower of that purple dude pulling a someone through a wall with weird powers. Remember precursors are supposed to be transsentient after all. which would explain why 343i said that the threat in halo 4 is going to be bigger than anything the master chief has ever faced.

  • 03.15.2012 2:42 PM PDT

Johe

It's probably be the once again covent.(aka the stinking elites and grunts)

  • 03.15.2012 2:46 PM PDT

the covenant as we knew it shattered after halo 3 and no longer exists although its client race still possess some of that technology and weapons so they may be featured in some way but not as the main atagonists.

Progo, Shrew, Chryso, all are the same.

indeed, it's very likely they will play a role, but if master chief has a warthog then humans will have a presence on this place (some think it's onyx). So it's possible ONI will be there messing with the precursor stuff. It'd be neat if cortana played a combat role (controlling a robot or something), instead of just marking stuff on your map and yelling at you to hurry up lol,

  • 03.15.2012 5:52 PM PDT

i don't think it's onyx because halo 3 legendary ending with the planet took place before glasslands which means that the planet would still have been in slipspace.

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

The primary enemy won't be the Covenant. I think they'll definitely have a presence, but they won't be the main enemy.

Here is some confirmed teaser content.

Halo 4 concept art teaser

Found this on the web courtesy of 405th forum. ?New enemy?

Can't be precursor as precursors are not described as mechanical. This has to be a New enemy not seen before.

The halo anniversary Terminal this is a teaser.

terminal 5

And then finally the mysterious Ai that might be a copy of the High charity Ai that cortana was talking about.

Covenant AI = mendicant bias cycle of rampancy?

"I'd have to say Lockout was the worst"

I'm pretty sure that's heresy, and that it conflicts with the "Code of Manliness" - page 792, section E subsection D paragraph 3.2. I suggest you relay that statement.

It'd be neat if cortana played a combat role (controlling a robot or something), instead of just marking stuff on your map...

Can't hate that idea. As long as they're throwing in Mechs, you'd might as well go hard.

I was having this discussion with a roommate last night actually. I know 343i said something along the lines of the stories were going to be relative to the comics and novels. I haven't had much experience with those.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

I see nobody has bothered to read the Forerunner novels. It's been pretty clear that the Precursors will probably fill the role as primary antagonist.

well, in the teaser vidoe, there was a forerunner ship...

To me that seems like the Mech. featured in the Halo 4 Multiplayer map Warehouse.

  • 03.15.2012 7:15 PM PDT

I think ONI will be an antagonist, but not the main villain. BS Angel's newest update said she killed an enemy and picked up it's Battle Rifle in H4, implying human enemies.

The Mech was blocky, this has more organic curves.

  • 03.15.2012 7:18 PM PDT

I could definitely picture ONI playing a large role.

But I believe everyone is thinking too big in terms of an enemy. I suspect the enemy will be a single individual. A nemesis of the Chief so to speak. He/She/It is going to be extremely powerful though.

I absolutely agree with this.

But, due to the choppiness of the picture and warped view of the creature I feel that it is still closely related to the mech. Just a thought. We will see.

Or a Flood enemy holding a BR. Always a possibility.

Also true, that's why I said implied. I just, personally, feel that having human enemies could be a nice change of pace. They'd be like a 1 or 2 level thing, when we see what dickery ONI is pulling this time, but I feel there could be room for it. Even if it only happened once, the enemy Cop in ODST was an interesting surprise.

Honestly, I'm not caring for the excessive dickery of ONI 343 is really pushing.

No its going to be something about forerunners.

It is a possibility because of interviews hint at a large vehicle or exo suit in campaign when questioned if the mech in warhouse can be piloted.

However I am leaning towards one of the enemies faced.

Ok, it is a possibility that they are precursor.
