The world is not beautiful: And that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

I scratch my head whenever i see a poll in a thread, do people not understand that it not only doesn't bump the thread and keep it alive, but also that people tend to vote and forget?

I just don't understand the point of polls.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

I don't even pay attention to polls, man. The answers are usually pretty weird anyway, or don't relate to what I have to say, if anything. (otherwise I won't vote or post)

Polls add information through statistics in a more organized way than a regular topic can through individual posts, as long as all possible answers are included choices.

The more votes a poll gets, the less each vote helps the poll with it's accuracy; and the less votes a poll has, the less accurate the poll is. So I question if a single vote even deserves to bump the thread. Not to mention that polls will likely be stuck at the first page.

@Geegs30

I know Achronos isn't a big fan of the poll system here. We'll probably see some changes to it in the upcoming site-update.

A resubmit to option use as a voting option is eloqent. Perhaps "campaign" as a third choice. Also usefull to factor in potentially relevant data.

It, or they, would still only be bumped per strength of community response.

Don't quote me on this, but wouldn't clearing your cookies allow you to vote as many times as one can be bothered to, without having any chance of being caught (seeing as how answering the poll appears to be anonymous)?

Key

The point is to have a more easily accessible way for the community to register their opinion in a multiple choice question which, therefore allows for a collective, visual, and quantifiable data on the subject.

Equipping the serving pole monitor with a .net ID to vote register, thus does much good.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

I don't post polls just for that reason. Unless Bungie can make a better solution, I won't ever be using them for that simple reason that they die almost instantly.

I see where you are coming from here and i feel the same way but i don't think it should bump the thread as each vote goes in.

If i were to make a thread with a poll, i would try and use the polls as just a side feature and not focus the actual main point of the discussion on the polls.

Though that seems to make the point of the poll irrelevant and in most cases it will.

But i think a good format example for this is:

>Discuss the good points and bad points of your favourite method of (the subject).

> [Poll] the method of (subject) you use most commonly:- [Poll options]
