Halo: Fatal Error

There was a problem initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration may be disabled, please run DXDIAG.

"WTF??!!" I say, as halo has always worked b4. I recently had uninstalled it to save space. Now after installing it again it won't run. Iv'e done everything i could find or think. And no im not running any refresh rate force programs b4 you ask. I had heard that it is a problem with Windows SP2, but I've had that for a long time and it had run on it b4 now. I'm gimped. Someone know whats wrong?
