Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

If they got rid of titles, people would just revert back to citing join dates.

Get rid of those too!
Whoa whoa whoa...lets not get drastic now. How else would I be able to ignore 08 "mythics" easily?

Remember kids: when Uncle Delta tells you he has sweeties, he isn't lying.

Now get in the van.

My OP on Mythic members is that they are just like everyone else on here. I don't see any elitism unless it is satire... mostly! lol! They each have thier own views and OP same as everyone else. I think that if titles did go away then most Mythics would stay on, they have already been here though think and thin so why give up now? I just thought I'd ask anyway and we have got some great responses!

Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

Granted, I haven't been active much over the four years I've had my account here, I've always used the titles to determine the competency of the posters on the site. If I seem a random topic and the OP is a normal member, I don't pay much attention to it unless it is something amazing or of interest. If a topic were to be started by someone with a Intrepid Heroic, or Noble Legendary, or something like that, I pay more attention and give it more consideration, no matter the subject matter (within reason).

Maybe it's just easier to say I take ranking members more seriously. Which is in part why I've decided to not use coup for a while.

almost all of the mythic members on this site take this site extremely serious and getting banned (and causing them to lose their title) is very important to them

19/20 mythic members need to take the internet less serious or just leave
You're cute. Anyone who is anyone knows that getting banned from Mythic and getting back to Mythic gives you a Mythic prestige. It's understandable that a lowly '09 wouldn't understand this. After all, some of us have been getting Mythic prestiges longer than you've been a member.

Getting banned for something truly glorious is great. There are some days where you really, genuinely deserved a ban and you have utmost respect for the ninja dropping it on you. Skirting the line between acceptable and unacceptable some days, and other days good as begging to be banned. Glorious. Then there are days where the ban is, in all fairness, terrible. I'm looking at you, TU.

"Spam; off-topic posts creating to thread derailment."

Ah, the great Mythic purge of 2011.

I just solved Bungie.net's greatest mystery, evilcam IS Gandhi
Don't be silly, Ghandi works at Bed, Bath and Beyond, listens to prog-rock and jazz so bad it makes your ears bleed and accidentally bans Shishka. Honestly, how could you confuse the two?

Additionally, and on topic, I second Delta's point that the end of the title system will just bring back what we already knew - that join date is the ultimate source of elitism. This fact is widely known within Mythic Members, and for those of you who do not know it, it is quite simple:

'04 or bust.

Like others have said I think the name would be the biggest thing. Good, bad, or indifferent that's how anyone who might recognize me would remember me. I wouldn't leave because of any of this though, I'd only leave if their next game didn't interest me and all the people I like to hang out here with left.

Totally rage-quit.
I only log in to stare at my title in my profile. I guess I could take a screen-shot, but, it just wouldn't be the same. . . .

If all member titles were to be wiped, I don't think I'd mind much. Long gone are the days when I would be recognised in a game of Halo 3. "Hey, aren't you that guy from BNet?!" is a question I haven't heard since the launch of the Mythic Map Pack.

If I truly cared about my status on this site as much as I used to, I'd post as much as I used to. My PPD in 2006-2009 was as high as 50 in some cases. Now it hovers at just above 1.

I'd probably be mythic right now if I hadn't called someone a lot of bad names a while back... Darn 7 day bans. Regardless, its more of a time spent on the forums, really, than of contribution to the forums.

Don't be silly, a 7 day ban is a warning.

And contribution to what forum? Most of the older Mythics probably haven't been in a game forum regularly in years.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Mythic means too much. I would instantly leave due to my lack of superiority.
I would stay because I do not need a visual indicator to tell people how superior I am. I just am.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC
