Just curious as to how the community is of Halo PC? Is it still very active and large? How about the cheating? What kind of counter-measure is in place? Anything like PB? I've been stuck on consoles for a long time since I was running a PII-233 for about six years. I cancelled my script to Live cause it just got annoying and since I went back to PC gaming, can't stand the consoles. I'd like to get back to Halo gaming; I've been playing UT2004 and FEAR, but I miss Halo.

Community is still very large, many servers and even more players. Cheating is not really much of an issue in Halo, as the scripts would have to be placed server-side.

It's fairly large, very active in regard to KW, and has a couple handful of cheaters thanks to AIMbot, lag hacks (rare). Counter measure? PB? What are you talking about?

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

PB=punkbuster

and 99% of all the cheating you might hear about is from people who would like to believe that the person who just owned them is cheating because there is no one better than him.

Hehehe, there's more cheating in PC than you'd like to believe. Then again, the numbers for that aren't very high at all. But people are good at concealing it (only a few; the rest of the cheaters don't know wtf they're doing).

Yes, people who blame others for their bad skills on AIMbot are sooooooooooooo annoying! On -blam!- Wars especially, since if you beat an idiot clan easily, they'll think you're using AIMbot and will force you to host your 30 min. long video.

I do know that cheating is more available and widespread on PC. Even on FEAR and well, every MP game out there, you see aimbots and throttlers, etc. But seeing the cheats that were (and still) on Halo2 for the Xbox was just pathetic. All for a number. But thankyou for all the input. I think I might finally grab myself a copy of Halo PC.

Oh and joe98200, they probly filter K-l-a-n out because of it being spelt that way when you use it in the K-K-K

Cheating on Halo is almost non-existent. Mind the 'almost'. Wireframes, wallhacks, fog removers, texture removers, ... are easy to get and the netcode cannot prevent those.

Most aimbots don't work, but there are a couple out there that do. Luckily, they are very difficult to get and it is a very limited number of players that uses them. I only know of 2 people that use one for sure.

a friend of mine actually sent me the aimbot that works, but everyone is cool in the game so i would feel bad if i used it. i only use it in small custom games with my friends to tick them off. i think (going back to the original topic) that the community is what stops from widespread cheating. everyone is still here just to have fun and thats what we do. have fun

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

Cheating is pretty none existant for all of the above reasons but theres also the fact that theres no ranking, therefore, no longlasting honour to be gained from winning a game.
