Ah, look at the lonely people...

Yeah, one wonders. I'm sure we've all heard about the attachment "HD-DVD" drive that the later 360 games will be on. I wonder, will they put Halo 3 on an HD-DVD just to force us to buy the external drive?

Probably not, Microsoft said they don't intend on using the HD-DVD drive to play games.

Then what would they use it for?

It's the competitor to Blu-Ray.

And, didn't Sony intend to put their games on Blu-ray?

EDIT: Sorry, I should have googled that first, I just found what you were talking about, them intending it for only playing back HD-DVD movies. Sorry, my fault.

Nope I asked a similar question ages ago and the answer is still the same.

The HD-DVD drive is for HI-DEF movie playback only.

Thats straight from the horses mouth, in this case the horse is Microsoft.

It might be cool to include a Hi-def making of disk if they choose to do another limited edition version

YEah, I edited my other post, just googled it (I really should do that before I open my mouth). Sorry.

It would be used to play movies in the HD-DVD format...

Chris Satchell, general manager at Microsoft's game developer group, says the HD-DVD drive is going to be for playing back HD-DVD movies only. "We're not using [HD-DVD] for game development," he said.

I doubt it.
