Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Just curious if anyone else was aware of this - link for reference.

I've always been under the impression that once a post is reported it is either: taken care of or ignored - resulting in the "Reported" message going away. Yet, here's a post from a year and a half ago that is still collapsed.

Have I been ignorant this whole time? Or are you guys as confused as I am?

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

The report system is weird, I don't think we'll ever fully understand it. Sometimes the notification is there, while other times it's not.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Perhaps he was just warned. Or he was banned and the ban expired. In those cases, the post remains collapsed.

I didn't even think of those two reasons as reasons to be honest; now that you mention them though, the logic makes sense.

Key

Even when someone is banned, they're posts come back after they are unbanned. And I think it'd probably come back in the condition it was before the ban.

The point of a reported post being collapsed is so the community doesn't have to view a rule-breaking post. It's still a rule-breaking post and so is still collapsed.
