I am by no means a halo expert. I have read none of the books, and my knowledge of them is limited to what I have read in these forums. However, one thing that has become evident to me (and many others) is the connection to Biblical terms...flood, ark, john 117, and so forth. I am simply throwing out another idea to the community so that someone more knowledgeable than myself can investigate, if they feel inclined to do so.

Many have speculated that the ark is connected to the Biblical Noah's ark, which saved Noah and the animals from the flood inflicted by God. This is definitely a plausible connection, being that in halo, there is a "flood" that is trying to wipe out mankind. However, there are two arks in the Bible. There is also the ark of the covenant. I believe that there may also be connections to this Biblical ark. First of all, John 117 makes reference to the fact that the law was established by Moses.....After the Israleites are delivered from the Egyptians, God gives his law to Moses on the mountain by inscribing it onto stone tablets. The ark of the covenant was built to house the stone tablets containing the law. This connects the ark to John 117, and hence, to MC. Secondly, thinking of the ark in terms of this Biblical reference, as opposed to Noah's ark, connects it to the covenant. After all, it is called the ark of the covenant.

I am not trying to say that the connection to Noah's ark is incorrect...That connection is easy to see. All I am suggesting is perhaps that the connection is two-fold and more complicated. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: After posting I saw the other post on a similar topic. Glad to see that others are thinking of this also.

No problem, Tartan. I have seen various comments out there about Noah's arek and the ark of the covenant, although some are incorrect. The other one on the forums now mentions the ark as something that hold our sinc, or something like that (or like a Pandora's box), and that's just wrong according to the biblical reference.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

don't always use the biblical references.
they could be (probably aren't) coincidental and their links may have nothing to do with the plot whatsoever
