I've read through hundreds of posts about theories and ideas about the Ark and so far i hav found nobody that has mentioned this, if they have, then i appoligise for repeating this. I don't know if everybody has already accepted this or just never thought about it:
As "science" has shown us, it is likely that the "human" speices as we are now emerged from the contenent of Africa, Hence the phrase
" Africa - Cradle of Civillization and/or Life "
And since we assume the Ark is in Africa, or at least that structure in the trailer is, and we use ONE of the many Biblical refeance of the "ark/arc" which protects all the forms of life from the "flood" Then we can draw the possibilty that the Foreruners created the Arc and either placed in on Earth or made it there and they placed "samples" of all life in the Universe. And they activated that Halo network, killing all sentient life.
We can assume that the Ark was somehow unaffected by the halos and it then released the "samples" and millions of years later we have man ..
I relise this may be obvious to everyone, but i honestly don't know as i have never seen anybody discuss it

To sum up I Assume the Ark which is somehwere in Africa protect pre-humanity while the halos worked their stuff, humans then were released from the arc and slowly evolved into Man as he is today

Science also says that humans in their present form have been around for at least 120,000 years but the halos were fired in the last 100,000 years (i cant remember where i got that number from)

But that doesn't support your theory completely. But it does point out that fore-runners probably existed at the same time.

Now i leave to go have a bath with my girlfriend :D

Hope Iceman and Tartan 118 carry on the excelent conversation
