Bow Chicka Wow Wow! ;)

Hey gamers. I'm having trouble completing Halo 3 on my own. I can't do it with help because I only have the 4 G Xbox which doesn't allow you to play campaign with friends. Got any tips?
I also need a good color combo for my spartan.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Wait for Sliding Ghost to come along. He will give you all the tips and strategies you need.

Things i would recommend, give arbiter a brute shot, and carry plasma pistols

This. Dont try to rush the enemy. Just stay back and use your br/carbine and plasma pistol to your advantage

Ok, I am here. Which level in particular do you need help with?

General tips:

*Use marines for infinite ammo. You can do this by emptying a weapon's clip then giving the weapon to the marine. Wait for him to reload then take it from him and you'll have the same ammo you had previously. This is useful when you have a BR or rocket launcher.

*to stop marines from driving off with the hog, park it against a wall so the marines can't get in it. You can then use the turret for long range use.

*Arby with the missile pod can home in on any enemy.

*go for assassination on Chieftains if you don't have a vehicle. The bullet sponges aren't worth fighting. You can also have Arby deal with them most of the time.

*You can shoot human weapons like the BR from behind deployable covers and enemies won't see you. These are the best uses of it:

Crow's Nest:
-there will be 3 at the hangar battles. Use them to block the marines
-you can use one with the machine gun turret when the Drones attack
-you can use it to block the Jump Pack Brutes at the landing zone area
-you can use it to block Johnson from getting on the Pelican

Floodgate:
Use it when facing Ranged Forms

Cortana:
Use it when facing Ranged Forms

_______

Level specific tips:

The Ark:
-to deal with the hammer Chieftain on The Ark, just do this. It might not work so consider bringing in a Chopper
_______

This is how I prioritize the weapons Arby should have:

sword > fuel rod gun > rocket launcher > brute shot > carbine > plasma rifle

On S117, Arby is a monster with the sword. It's best to kill him at the start of the mission and take his carbine leaving him with his sword. Proceed as normal until you get a cp. You can then use that Carbine on Johnson. He'll drop an assault rifle. Move it away from him and he'll get up with a BR. Proceed as normal until you get another cp. Headshot Johnson and take his BR (note there is a risk of allies turning on you if you kill them too frequently).

For the first battle, Arby will go camo so just headshot some Grunts. He'll deal with the Brute.

For the next battle, noob combo the Brute, headshot the Grunts. If you see that Arby has closed the distance in the next battle that comes after this one, it's safe to go a bit closer to the enemy. Just have a plasma pistol with you for most of mission start.

For rally point alpha, one of the Jackal snipers is on a tree branch and you can knock him into the water where he won't shoot. I suggest using the Carbine for this.

I could go in-depth if you want. Here's some Sierra 117 videos I've uploaded:

Three main weapons:

BR, Covenant Carbine, Needler

Play the camper role - use the rifles to get headshots, use the Needler instead of the AR.

Whenever a sniper's available, USE it to take out Brutes. Use a shotty or a turret when the Flood are nearby (especially on Cortana; Sword works at the beginning of this level too).

If you're on a level with a Scarab, use your vehicle guns (Hornet, Tank) to take out the back panel and then the core to destroy it instead of taking out the legs to collapse it and board it.

Nice post. That should be made a sticky.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Are you being level specific? If so:
Sierra-117: I just recommend not getting caught in CQC with the chieftain at first sight.

Crow's Nest: Was easy IMO. Just be cautious and take your time.

Tsavo Highway: Same as above.

The Storm: Be careful around the wraith. It has a lot of guarding Covenant, so don't rush it.

Floodgate: Easy level. There's a sword flood when you meet the elites, though.

The Ark: I had trouble with this level a lot. What I did was give a marine rockets and drive him around on a mongoose. It really helps.

The Covenant: Long level. Don't take the chieftains on instantly, because they take a lot of damage and, I believe, have invisiBrutes to help. Using plasma weaponry will help. Also, try to get behind the scarabs quickly when fighting them.

Cortana: Make sure you're not in the open when facing those needle shooters. Trust me.

Halo: Don't try to run over the flood every time you see some. Also, never take the middle path. As for the first half, don't get yourself caught in between two groups of flood, because they like to jump you from all directions.

Hope this helps. I'm not normally asked for advice.
Edit: Also make sure you have a BR most of the time, and maybe even a plasma pistol or rifle.
