I've noticed that in Halo 2 parts of your vehicles and other people's vehicles can come off when shot enough. The real problem is with the Covenant vehicles that can use boost, sometimes the parts of the vehicles that enable the vehicle (i.e. Banshee, Wraith etc.) to boost come off. Like the Banshee's gravity pods of the 'wings' on the Wraith. When those come off you can still boost, what's the deal? I think that when these are shot off you should lose the ability to boost or whatever the part of the vehicle anables, just adds realism.

Good point, the banshee isnt very realistic, but if its anti-g pods didnt come off, there would be no way to the scarab gun...

I agree. I was quite confused when Bungie said that if you shoot off the pods, it will render then useless.

im not quite sure, maybe on tank type things but the warthog and ghost are too weak. In a CTF game osmeone is leaving in a hog the rocket guy already has that covered, or a sniper. Even battle rifles can even take them out. And if your suggesting that the BR shoots the hog the wheels blow out, or it will move slower because of the damage, now its just a bigger sitting duck then it was. Same with the ghost, w/o the boost you cant live at all.

Well maybe the effects could be on during campaign, turned off during matchmaking, and could have a switch on custom games.

Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

it is easilly noticable that your vehicles preformance suffers when greatly damged. the whathog is slower when it's on fire, the banshee and ghost handle like crap when there "wings" are blown off. it would be a step too far if they wen't from indestructable vehicles in halo to completely "blow off a tire of my wharthog and we all die in the crash" destructable vehicles. there had to be some common ground.

I personally like it better when vehicles were indestructable, it made them more of a commodity in multiplayer and could be used as good defense points while protecting a flag.

yes but here is another suggestion...if the tires on a warthog (or maybe 1 person 4 wheeler...just a suggestion :-0) get shot it slows the vehicle down and makes it less agile.

I agree w/ all the above... I also think it would be nice if you could turn damage off completely.. the more game options the better is my theory

i could be wrong but i do believe it gets more sluggish. it's hard to say with the wharthog since it's handleing is so in consistent sometimes.

I think the Warthog performes just fine when it's on fire, but I could be wrong, too.

again, stuff like that varies a little. and there are many people that don't pay attention to settleties like that anyway, which is why it wasn't that painfull of a transition.

When you play legendary, you notice things like that:
The warthog get slightly slower and spins more when on fire,
the banshee handles pretty much the same,
the ghost is the same also, but easier to destroy i think

Ok, I want to see fully destructable vehicles, Just imagine being in a pelican in multiplayer(hopefully they have it) and you are in the cockpit as a rocket smashes the windsheild and it cracks and then shatters. Then another missile slams the wing, and the passengers watch as the wall where the wing was is torn off and the pilot loses control and says "****, were goin down!" as you smash into the ground with a big next-gen explosion. That would kick @$$ wouldn't it?!
