Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

I've had threads locked before and received the warnings that come with the locks, however I was wondering if it was possible to get warned/banned for posting in a thread that is obviously going to get locked. For example, in the flood, there was the Halp 4 epidemic a short while ago that ended in more than a page of locked threads. Everyone who posted in them knew the threads would be locked, yet they post anyway. So is it possible?

Well we all know the Mail Sacks get locked.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Is it possible? Sure. If you are replying to spam (especially spam thit is bad), then you might just get the same ban/warning the OP got. Wil it happen every time? Probably not.

That's not the kind of thread I'm talking about.

Ok, thank you. I'll be more careful where I post.

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

Carpet bans.

Narwhallace Smithington: Gone, but not forgotten. Never approve of anything lil guy. <3
Furious George: The new -blam!-

I warn people for posting in threads that are forum disruptions like parody threads, shock site threads, etc. All they're doing is keeping it to the top of the board. If I see that someone has been warned for it before, I will give them a 3 day ban, if they've had a 3 day ban, they get a 7 day ban and so on.

Some people say it looks like "carpet banning" but you would be surprised how many people have been warned/banned for that kind of stuff and still haven't taken the hint.

I would guess that it depends on whether you are encouraging the thread or not.

Кланяються мені!

Used to be responding to spam was a ban-able offense to everybody who posted in it. It is still unwise to respond to trolls. If you see a troll or spam thread report and move on. You don't need to add to the mess if you do you are indeed risking some moderation yourself. Rather or not it happens depends on you and if the mod is feeling generous to those who allowed the thread to thrive.

So short answer yes and avoid posting in topics you know will be locked.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Sure, if you get your kicks out of replying to spam, "my life" is very boring.

Basically, as long as you don't contribute to the spam using stuff like (ib4, cool story bro, etc.) You more than likely won't receive a ban/warning.

The rules are far more lenient, than they use to be in the past.
