Subject: Halo 3 Announcement Trailer Remake

This is a video I made just to spice up the music in the Halo 3 Announcement Trailer. The sound gets a bit choppy at about half-way through, but otherwise I think it's OK - nothing groundbreaking, obviously, but just a little change.

BE WARNED! This file is over 30MB, so anyone with slow Internet connections may have to wait a looong time if they want to view this.

Hope you enjoy,

Look out Marty, you've got some compitition. Would have been swell if you could of kept all the sound affects but you did a better job then I ever could have so Kudos!

Thanks Drag. I severely doubt I'd be as good as Marty O'Donnell (Bungie can afford composers and top-of-the-range audio equipment; I'm just a normal person with Windows Movie Maker), but it is nice to get some positive feedback. I really cringe at that middle bit, though - I really butchered the sound at that part.

I'll give it a 8//10

It's not perfect, but nevertheless it's great!

  • 05.26.2006 3:28 PM PDT

Thanks guys. I'm sure that if I had some kind of expensive movie editing software I would have been able to remove the old music and still keep the sound effects, but like I said before I'm only using the basic Windows Movie Maker.

For those of you who don't know, that music is Marty's "Halo Outtake" tracks from http://www.halouvre.com.

It was good...I didn't really like the music for the last half very much at all, but I really liked the first half.

I'll give you an A+ for effort, but I didn't really like it.

I didn't think the music matched the mood of it like the original music. Sorry. =/

But that doesn't mean I would like to see some more of your work. =)

Hey, everyone. After several consecutive hours of tweaking, swearing, adjusting, swearing, shouting at Windows Movie Maker, and blowing stuff up...

And even more swearing...

I present The Halo 3 Announcement Trailer Remake - Version 2! I decided, after the butchering of the middle part in version 1, to re-make this part with different music. The problem is, my Windows Movie Maker seemed to have some personal issue with dealing with this song - on fullscreen it would play the part I wanted, then on normal it would play a completely different part. Finally, I got it right, and this is the end result. Enjoy!

Yup. This is what happens when I get bored and I can't be bothered writing Fan Fictions ;-)

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, anyway, HALO_DOMINATION. I thought it was kind-of hard to hear Cortana speaking during the first part. I understand that you don't like it - everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I did the same thing for the Halo 2 Mombasa vid. Very fun. Always loved WMM, and i still prefer it over Adobe Premier, probably becuase of the many video sizes available when you save it. Im working on a video as we speak, ill PM you the finished result if you would like.

Oh, and now i ned to make a video to compete with this very well done one. Although the piano had a little chops and it kinda came in abruptly (i think it would be better if the entire thing was that piano). Anywho, very well done! Ill be back!

Wasn't worth the 5 minutes it took to load. The music made it hard to hear Cortana and there should have been heavy guitar when the banshhes started flying overhead.

I watched it, the frist minute or so was sweet...and then it just got annoying. I couldn't hear some of the sound of the banshees and stuff.

Good job though, much better than i could have done!!

There's a reason for that; I had to mute that section, because the music from the original trailer would have been playing at the same time as the music I put in. From experience, I found that this music "takes over" the other one. Since I'm using Windows Movie Maker, I can't use any fancy applications where I can remove the music but not the general SFX.

There's been some mixed opinions, I see - regardless of what everyone thought, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my various rantings, and downloading and watching my remake.
