Subject: Some of the smartest people are self taught. (Breaking In)

Like this guy.

This is a very inspiring article which just goes to show that college is not a must and nor should it be.

I sometimes wonder if I should go the self taught method... I know that I'm currently (sort of) doing online university courses, but it's not the same as being truly self taught, you're still on a pre-set curriculem of assignments and such. I personally find the idea that I'm getting graded on some stuff kind of terrifying at times.

Sometimes you need that, but when you can create your own tests to test yourself you can often actually come out better, and I think what I dislike about formal testing most is that I'm the kind of guy who doens't like studying, I'd rather just look stuff up on the fly when I need to, if I'm doing something on a regular basis I'll remember it anyways.

But like, all those tests you do in elementary school/high school how much of that do you actually end up using and remembering, I mean it obviously depends on what career you go into, but I don't remember half the stuff we learned about like... Nunavut in grade 4, my grade 4 teacher had us spend like half the year learning about Nunvaut.

Again kudos to Nate!

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Yes, that way I can make my comment still be readable while actually having time to read the article, also my first time responding first to an admin... dunno why that seems so special..> BUT IT IS!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Maybe when I'm a senior and they still do it, I'll probably read them so I know what they did to work at Bungie because I want to work at Bungie, but I'm only a 9th grader

If you don't read them, how do you know what is in them? What else are you going to read for the next five minutes? Someone posting something like this again?

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Very interesting. I remember when vanity was on the front page, i used it all the time to check all the armour i didn't have.

Congrats on getting a job at Bungie!

We should know better, because we are better.

Is it just me, or is the interview not showing up? It shows the Mail Sacks and previous Breaking Ins but not this one.
Never mind, showing up now.

Got a question for you Deej! After I further my own knowledge and make a bit of a portfolio, think it would be worth leaving Canada to try and get a job at like... Bungie or Arenanet?

Also are Bungie and Arenanet buddies considering both are epic companies?

Looking back at the picture of Nate, does anyone know how old he is? He looks quite young to be working at a *"Triple A" company.
