Subject: Notifications.

Whats the answer to Number 2? BLAHHHH!!!!!! Ok....... BLAH...

Have you ever posted something and stared at the post, periodically refreshing to see if anyone posted? (Forever Alone) Well I just had this idea. Why doesn't Bungie create a notification centre where you can see if somebody posted?

But what if you make a post that get 1000 plus posts on it? They could make it only notify you once (if you haven't already look) and then when you check it it tells you how many posts. What do you guys think?

Who the hell do you think I am?

Because other forums that have that are terrible forums.

Therefor, a system like that would make these forums terrible.

I think this idea has been brought up many times before. And that it's been argued the heck out of.

Me? I could do without it; but it could prove useful.

Ugh I knew I was forgetting to take SOMETHING into consideration. I should have known.

But seriously here, the only reason other forums do that is because of how slow they move.

I think you're just expected to keep an eye on the thread yourself.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Halo Waypoint emails you if someone posts and I got like 100 emails in 1 day.

Good thing I could turn it off.

Wow that sounds like the most annoying things in the world. Which is why it should notify you once and tell you how many people posted.

  • 03.19.2012 6:01 PM PDT

I've always been for this idea. It would be help for when you're quoted.

This is also why it would be a bad thing.

Also, on an unrelated note, sken's post reminded me of the time when my friend and I had a poke war on Facebook, and I had about 500 new emails in a matter of 20 minutes.

Yeah, not fun.

I think you missed the point he made.

In regards to facebook/waypoint email thing, it's mainly for those who don't use those sites regularly so you might make a thread asking for help or a post asking a question you can keep an eye on your post. Of course if you use the forum regularly then you wont need such a feature. Notifications however are different, you don't even have to take notice of them they're just hidden in the top corner and can be used with ease.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

I've always wanted this, a notification system would do wonders for this site. I think it should work like the one on Facebook. Not notifying you for every individual post, but in clutters of posts. If you know what I mean, I described that terribly I know.

Good now we know we share the same ideas. Great minds think alike, but I suppose the inverse could be true...

Exactly.

If you just had account options to turn notifications on or off, this feature would be amazing, and would suit everyone.

So you're saying its a BAD thing to use notifications because you're assuming Bungie would do something as stupid a tying it to your email address?

What?

Per Audacia Ad Astra

I can see the space on the left of the website's forums filled with recently posted topics, and a live update of how many posts there have been since you posted in them.

Imagine the topic icons on the far left with a post count since your last post - and even saved topics.

Only after we ban Bricypoo.

But if Bungie never changes it's thong than that thong will get really dirty. Bungie should at least change it's thong once a month.

Posted by: Johnny Appleseed
I bungie.net is completely pefect and Bungie don't need to change a thong.

  • 03.19.2012 8:23 PM PDT

I FORGOT

It could be a separate option beside PMs. Not an email system though, that could get annoying. It would be useful though.

  • 03.19.2012 8:27 PM PDT

I'm friendly.

Doesn't really seem necessary.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

If it were a notification in terms of replies to a thread a user creates; then no - not unless it only involved a number outlining how many people replied to your thread in a set timeframe, and a link to the thread (eg: your thead [x] has received __ replies since _______; click here to view the thread)..
