this is probably the boldest step i ever taken in my life...

there's this one girl at my school thats same age as me (about, maybe a little younger), and she also is in my Explorers group*. she's really nice, and we've even kindof become friends.

here's the problem: i am a social outcast. i hate crowds, and i don't like to talk to people. she's already shown signs of liking me (i.e. letting me take her home from the Explorer thingy), and i can't seem to summon up the courage to ask her out.

any advice for a really quiet guy like me? (i've already tried deep breaths, stay calm, that sort of -blam!-, but it didn't work. i still chickened out)

p.s. i saw the other guy who had a thread kinda like this one, and thats what made me decide to do this.

*Explorers is a group for basically anyone between 14 and 21 that want to persue a possible carrer in law-enforcement. you learn about 90% of what a full-blown cop knows

Alrighty. Well, there is no easy way. When I first got the courage to ask a girl out in eighth grade, she said yes. Basically, what I thought was,"Hey, you have nothing to lose, at worst she says no." Things are going to be a bit weird for a while, and then you'll be friends again, so go for it. It's not as hard as you think.

Oh yeah, and if she says yes, then talk to her about things you have in common, like this cop class you go to. I talked about skiing and other stuff we had in common. Show off once in a while, and don't worry too much about what other people think.

just do it. don't think to much

and don't tell her you post here. she'll think you're a nerd.

Good luck!!!!

really, dont think about it

I'm kinda a social outcast and have been since I was 6, and I completely understand how you feel socially. Take your big step and ask her out when you have the chance. I've never had a girlfriend so I don't know what its like going through what you're going through.

alright my mooing compadre, we've all been in your situation before (although we hate to admit it) (well except me, i'm an international pimp to the she diggity FO sheezie)

anyway, try one of the classic Peck pick-up lines. theres some funny ones but it sounds like you want something that will work on this gorgeous young sack of meat and desirable organs. So might i suggest you say in your most slick voice, "smile if you would like to go out with me"

I've pulled this one 4 or 5 times and it is yet to fail, the girl ALWAYS smiles. even if they don't want to go out with you, they still give you a little credit and smile anyway. You say you're a shy one eh? well that may not work for you then...

So if i were you ask her casually and don't make a big deal out of the subject, people seem to forget that dates are supposed to be fun...well good luck cow man.

problem is, i used to have a girlfriend. but she turned out to be a bit of a -blam!- and now i've kinda been a little skeptical about this one (the girl in question). she seems really nice, but if she's anything like my last girlfriend... i don't know... *begins pacing and thinking*

i've talked to one of my step-brother's about the same thing, and the only advice he could give me is pretty much what Kendoboy said. i know exactly how i'm going to ask her out (yes, i've got my own little script memorized), but the problem is getting the courage.

i still don't know... *continues pacing, creating a small rut in the ground*

EDIT: i think i'l try that, Peck. once i get the courage...

i've already got that part down. sorta. i don't have the kind of humor that appeals to everyone. its not perverted or anything like that, but its just how i am. that wierd outcast type humor.

Well, the thing with courage is that you can't just make it,it comes from one self.So my advice to you is to just go for it when you feel it's right.Oh and never give into peer pressure(ex.people telling you when). So just have self confidence and don't worry about the results till it happens.Good luck to you buddy.

Me being a social outcast as well, maybe I can offer some advice. Or not, really kendo said it well; 'What's the worst that could happen?' She'll say no, whoopie!

Really, you do have to stop thinking, it's what I've been doing since I was born! Just ask her out, but make sure it's the right time and don't use drugs, alochol or any other mind effecting drugs. Just be yourself and show what you have to offer. Girls are quite fickle, maybe we should get Atusmi in here to lay down some advice?

Coky? i assume you meant COC.KY but still that's not accurate either.
i believe what you meant to say was "confident"
that or you might have meant to say "peck is an irresistable sex machine"
or possibly you might have meant "peck is gods gift to women"

kidding, kidding...

maybe...?

something else i forgot to mention: she lives in the more ghetto part of my town, and its kindof a more run-down apartment complex. she doesn't lead a real rich life, and i'm not sure if that will affect anything.

you should dont delay it too long and once you get the hang of it it should be easy just like asking one of your guy friends to go hang out
