We all kinda knew that truth was evil. But the theory is good bar one thing (which I've saud time and again) Truth ordered his counselor pals dead, didn't seem bothered that mercy got flooded and wanted to kill regret. He seems homocidle to me.

It does explain why tarturus ignored 343 gulity spark when saying that halo wipes out all liveing things but then the prophets wouldn't be safe inless that forrener ship was also a safehouse

Does anyone else think that the Prophet of Truth is REAL the bad guy here?

Truth seems to know what the great journey consists of - that is why he hauls ass to earth and leaves the brutes to activate the ring - he wants to get to the arc so he will survive detonation - it also seems from halo 2 that the prophets names mean more than just names - for example - the only one that is really clear to know the "truth" of the great journey is truth - it is easy to speculate the others know - but again - truth cares little for them so it could be either way - the prophet of mercy gets shown as showing mercy in the part that cortana deciphers when the covenant are communicating wiht regret - "this is due to mercy and his wise council" or something - basically saying it would have been harsher but mercy cut u slack - regret is also easy - perhaps there is more to the names here - also - the elites have already sided with the humans at the end of halo 2 - I kinda think they will join miranda and johnson and play a huge part in liberating earth - we'll see when the graphic novel and new novel come out if there are any elites left still fighting with the covenant - but due to the sense of honor the species seems to have I doubt they would......

also - tartarus does still seem to not believe the arbiter at the end since he says - " the brutes and not the elites..." - he still seems to hold trhat sense of jealousy and "I wanna be better" attitude......

That is a very good theroy, And The Elites and Humans sort of side with each other, Cuz on the Level "The great Journey" on Halo2 at the end when you get in the banshee to fly to the control room, You put your cross air on the humans is green, Plus I also think that The remaining Hunters and Grunts will side with the Humans and elites, Because in "gravemind" The brutes are slaughtering the grunts, and The 2 Hunters on The great Journey side with us, But We'll all have 2 wait and see!

You know what I think would be funny is that the arbitor and his forces defeat the prophet and his forces at the ark but then a tired grunt will sit on a ledge and activate the rings. That would never happen but I think that would be a funny alternate ending.....

That would be awesome and funny.
funny yes... possible.... no. The rings can only be activated by a "reclaimer"? Or maybe since it remote activated then it could be possible.

The Hierarch Council members are not in on the plot, i don't think Regret is either but I'm not sure about Mercy. He had to have lied when he said "with the proper humility we implied the Oracle with questions and it, with clarity and grace had shown us the Key." Can you see 343 saying that the start of the Great Journey can be commenced by integrating the Sacred Icon at the Control Room?

Funny how nobody seems to actually mention or realise the whole game series revolves around the flood, not the human - covenant war. Halo is a weapon against the flood. The Human - Covenant war is merely something happening in the background to spice up the game/story.

Try including the flood in your 'theories' seeing as they are the reason the Halo's even exist...

Not bad, not bad at all. I totaly agree with your theory.
But i think we should not jump to conclusions, let's just wait for Halo3 and find out all.

More like the other way around, the Covie's have a far greater role then the Flood in the Halo series. Off course Truth knows why the Rings were built but it wasn't his intention to release the parasite.

That's a good theory except I don't think the MC is the leader of the humans. I think he's more of a "poster child" to boost morale because of his awesome capabilites. From him, the humans see that the Covenant aren't immortal, but are just very hard to kill.

That's my 2 cents.

And he also seems to give them hope, like Johnson said in the first level of Halo 2.

the brutes took the elites places thanks to the MC. because of him the elites worked with Johnson and Miranda to stop halo. So if there is a truce between the elites and humans then you can thank the MC for that.

The flood doesnt realy have a role in my theory. I dont think anyone couldve predicted that the halos had flood inside of them. Just like how the covenant were surprised when they came to earth and found humans.

Dont be angry, I'm obligated to whip your ass; if I didn't you wouldn't be getting your moneys worth.

Good points. In support of your idea of a possible union between humans and convenant we can look at the alternate ending we see when we beat Halo 1 on Legendary where we see the sargeant and the elite hugging each other for dear life before they are destroyed. This scene may be foresadowing events to come or it may just have been a funny joke. Either way I thought it might be interesting.

Great job on that theory, I agree with everything. Except when you say the Arbiter and the Master Chief are the leaders, they're more like the "heros". Great job anyway.

That is why Truth went so balistic at Regret for going to the ring, because he knows that the ring destroys all life. Regret believed in "The great journey" and planed to activate the ring which would have been disaster for truth's plan.

Also he disposed of Mercy because Truth wanted all the power for himself, which shows that Mercy can not have been in on the plan for he believes in the great journey as well.

( i did not word that well but, you probably get the point )

i hope the elites kick some brute ass. not cause the brutes are harder (which they are) but because the covenant is suppost to be aliens, not gorillas....

i think that the structure on Earth is actually the Key to revealing the Ark which i believe is hidden in the moon because if u know the history of the Ark of the Covenant it says that it was always hidden under cloths or whatever and even its carriers weren't allowed to see it.

I barely read any of the posts (sorry), but like, dude....
Did you really waste time and thought process by thinking all that out.
You kind of get that from playing the game. And its not a "conspiracy" its a rebellion.
But really i pretty much think you're right, except i dont agree that its because the prophets held a grudge.
They may have planned this all along, knowing that the elites would outlast there usefulness.
You have to think of all the politics within the covenant hierarchy as well.

I have a feeling that the hunters were only our friends on the last level on halo 2. Most likely the brutes have trained more to fight against the elites and humans
