Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Brutes are the best characters in Halo. In Halo 2 they are the most difficult, 7 melees to kill on easy and when they go beserk they never stop meleeing. Plus Halo 3 brutes look so awesome. The only thing I like about Reach brutes is that they have super strength and kill you in one hit on higher difficulties

Brutes also use the best weapons, the spiker, mauler, gravity hammer, brute plasma rifle, plasma rifle, carbine, human shot gun and battle rifle, the brute shot, fuel rods and plasma launchers, they are so kick ass, of course we need them in Halo! :D

EDIT: How does this thread count as spam?

No, there is no option where there used to be. I think it has to do with my post being reported...

***KEEP IT CLEAN***

Feedest Ye Notte Yon Trolles

Welcome to Education 101. This afternoons lesson we'll be discovering why Brutes are (in every factor) in the Covenant.

Possibly we'll do a bonus round of why Brute weapons are equally good, if not better then Elite weapons. Stay tuned.

Well before you were born. (I mean this as in well before the events of Halo: CE. But telling from your typing, topic and shear misunderstanding of "Google", I predict you're no older then 11.) The Brutes were in the Covenant well past the events of Harvest. (Contact Harvest $3.99. Amazon).

Maccabeus was a Jiralhanae Chieftain (Jiralhanae meaning Brute), And he initially started the war (I say started, it was his Squad so his responsibility) but it was Tartarus (Maccabeus' nephew) who lead a pack of Unggoy (Grunts) who broke rank and made a early attack (while they were officially looking for Relics.)

Yull(Unggoy) was the first to fire officially at a Militia recuit (Osmo) which caused him to fire. This alerted Maccabeus and one of his escorts shot Attorney General Pedersen. This, started the war.
After he(Maccabeus) had bungled the assault on Harvest, his nephew Tartarus challenged him to a duel because Maccabeus had disobeyed orders from the Prophets about glassing Harvest, but had instead continued his search for relics and a possible Oracle, and had caused the deaths of several Jiralhanae, one of whom was a friend of Tartarus. He was then defeated by Tartarus, who became the new Chieftain of the pack and gained Maccabeus' armour and Fist of Rukt (War Hammer)
This is why you see Tartarus leading the Brutes and not Maccabeus during the events of Halo 2 (Which I don't think you've even played.)

It's only the short version because I know a lot of you don't have the the attention span to read something educational about a game you play.

And now's time for the bonus round.

Jiralhanae(Brute) weapons:

Type-25 Carbine(Spiker):
Almost better then the Plasma Rifle. Has the same Shield-shredding abilities as any plasma weapon. Even it's shots effect your health more than a Plasma Rifle. It has a added Melee bonus due to the Spike on the front end.

Type 25 Grenade Launcher(Brute shot):
Fantastic edition from the concussion rifle (In terms of game years and not release date). Long range, large explosion radius. Hard to master (Like the current UNSC M319 Individual Grenade Launcher) but well worth the effort.
Also has huge blade on the back for extra Melee damage.

Type-52 Pistol(Mauler):
Handheld shotgun weapon. Very good close range duel-wielded. Same properties as the UNSC M45 Shotgun (I say M45 as I don't believe you to have experienced Any previous Halo games with a ridiculous topic.

Finally..

Type 2 Energy weapon(War Hammer):
Best weapon around. Same traits as the Shotgun (Close range properties) but can kill/wound multiple enemies at once. Also has a blade for extra Melee damage.
(Tip: Excellent for bonus round with the grunts. Meleeing can increase your shield so constant hits should keep you good for a long time)

So there we have it. Short class on why Brutes are needed in Halo. Well before our OP here realised.

The real question, and maybe I should have started with this..

Do we need you?

Peace.
