No. I've had the same UserName since 2006 and have come and gone, mostly lurking, and am barely a shadow here. It is always nice to come back and lurk though.

Oh, in 2007 I was banned by KPaul for posting something about Frankie and something lewd. It was funny, at least as I remember it, but I still was banned, although I think undeservedly.

I haven't done much. I did get a question in the mailsack. That is probably the biggest achievement I have had here. Other than that, I have been here to witness some hilarious moments, and I'm happy to have just been able to been around to experience them.

Well, therein lies the humour.

It was ncsuDuncan who pieced together the base map for that to begin with, not Helveck, though he did improve it by quite a bit. I'm rather jelly I didn't think of doing it.

* The three Bungie Community podcasts that ever existed before internal affairs broke down (we were on iTunes, too!).

* The Ultimate Egg ("TUE") - I'd post the original but as you'll learn in some of these threads, my 550+ page thread was deleted after "the" hack; so here's some varied hilarity instead - #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 (lolwut) #6, #7, #8 #9, #10 "SonicJohn Got The Skulls Poop--AND SOON", #11 (man, I forgot how upset people got about this), #12, #13, #14, #15 "Quote Archive", #16, #17, #18, #19, #20, #21, #22, #23, #24, #25, #26, #27, #28 (A poll about me), #29 (also known as the best thread in existence), #30, #31 (apparently it infected my personal life...also man, I sound like a child in this thread), #32, #33...
...and that's just in the Halo 2 Forum. There's still a bunch to be found in the Halo 3 forum.

* My crazy pre-Sandbox-release theory about what the map was originally teased to be - I was pretty spot on.

* My theory on what would become "Cold Storage" - Again, pretty spot-on.

*Project L.A.S.O. - Legendary All Skulls On - Riding on the backend of my TUE fallout (and my adventures doing Halo 2 LASO), I knew I was going to be tackling Halo 3's Legendary with every single skull. I coined the term way back then, and then my efforts were put to the side by The Tyrant's (a name which always amused me as being fitting), who tried so hard to get rid of me from having started the craze that he changed the name to "Mythic" (Which still doesn't make any sense to me since it's already a Skull name and difficulty) and told me over the PM system that he'd refuse to include me in the thread's credits. Hard tiems on le internests. I'm still very happy to know that Bungie used the term "LASO" in Halo Reach for some weekly challenges. I know it sounds silly, but it's still really cool that something I did eventually made it into Bungie's final Halo game.

* My $0.02 about what makes a Halo game "good".

* And I helped with CAVX's original Coup d'Bungie in the early days; building a "Master Sheet" of everyone's Coups. Since in the beginning you could only do your own local profile appearance. So I guess you can say I was one of the early pioneers of Coup too :)


In related news, I went to the doctor's this morning and they told me I was exhibiting signs of obsessive behaviour. Totally not evident in my time spent here at all!

Edit: So, a lot of that was just me going through my Saved Threads to find anything thinly relevant to this thread. Some of it might just be me ego-stroking, so do ignore it if it is.

I think I've done a lot of things that would have made a lot of commotion if it hadn't been for my late start, the arrival of Reach, and the huge changes in majority of the community.

I was the first to:

-H2: assemble 63 Elite Councilors on Great Journey and come up with and perfect the setup.
-H3: Collect an army of marines + a team of 7 sword Elites and Arbiter + a large army of Brutes on The Covenant.
-H3: setup an active AI battle in a cutscene and kill Master Chief in a cutscene.
-H3: Gather a massive army of Flood on The Covenant at the third tower and the citadel.
-H3: Bring all 5 Elites and Arbiter up the third tower elevator and get them in the cutscene.
-H2: Banshee exit launch. I'm pretty sure it's a glitch but I don't know how exactly the Banshee was affected. All I know is that if I get out of the Banshee (and am not sent flying) then get back in, I can't launch anymore.

Afaik, I was the first to:

-H3: using a Wraith and with a little help from a Scarab,

reach The Storm's skybox, move a Pelican, splatter a Hornet and Mongoose, get on a Scarab's deck as early as possible in single player, board the boat, and deload the Scarab while being able to continue the level.
-H3: Get a Hunter to the terminal room on The Covenant.
-H3: assemble a massive army of AI controlled Hornets on The Covenant.
-H3: discover Elite berserking in H3.
-H3: stop invincible Arbiter on The Ark at the cartographer from leaving in the Banshee and using him to kill the Chieftain and Jump Pack Brutes.

I am the only one to this date who bothered to investigate potential megabattles (if not mini-megabattles) on Sierra 117 and The Arbiter.

On S117, I got all the Grunts intact for a total of about 33. There are 2 stages in which you can engage them from a starting checkpoint. Initial phase is premature but gives you plenty of time to kill the Covies before the Pelican arrives. Final phase is where things get hectic and you have to race to kill as many as possible before the Pelican comes in.

On The Arbiter, I brought nearly all of the Heretics in the level starting from the last hangar battle (I excluded the fuel rod gun Grunts and sword Elite) to the room where you see the Heretic leader depart (I stopped him from leaving and also killed the Heretics that spawned in the room). I also brought allied Elites, gave them swords and blocked them. I also setup a huge massive stockpile of weapons in the lobby at To The Hunt. This is the pinnacle of my hard work.

It was finally done last year by MisterMonopoli (several others, at least 6 afaik, attempted 1 or 2 levels but not the entire campaign), although only a few were single segment runs. Still, they are godly impressive.
