Brute Bolt Cannon:
-Primary: Shoots large bolts of green superheated energy (Like the old brute shots in the '03 H2 real-time demo). The speed of the bolts is about in the medium range; they are fast enough to hit a retreating Warthog but require some horizontal leading for longer distances. The cannon itself can't fire very fast without overheating; about five consecutive shots will force the gun to stop and cool itself off. The damage the blasts do is unique with covenant weapons in that the weapon is just as effective againsts conventional armor as it is against energy shields. The cannon can take down a Spartan with three direct hits and does half the damage if the bolt only grazes by (the center of the blast must connect for the hit to be a direct one).
-Secondary: The cannon itself can be flipped over and, using the secondary barrel on the other end, used as a plasma grenade launcher. However, instead of having to press a second button to switch between firing modes, the player instead "flips" the cannon over his shoulder by pushing up on the right thumbstick until he reaches the top ten degrees of his visual range. Once the cannon has been flipped, the player can then load a single plasma grenade by pulling the R-trigger and can fire the grenade by pulling it again. The launcher fires grenades at the same speed and arc as the brute shot, so it is very useful against vehicles and even Spartans at medium to short ranges. To switch back to primary fire the player only has to flip the cannon back down by looking downward with the right thumbstick until he reaches the bottom ten degrees of his visual range.
-Notes:
1) The Launcher relies on the player's plasma grenade reserves, so only four can be carried in addition to the one loaded in the launcher (a total of five).
2) When the launcher is loaded, the inside of the barrel glows a light-blue. This is a sort of visual hint to the enemy that they should stay away or something very, very bad will happen to their face...
3) The cannon can be flipped even after the launcher has been loaded, allowing the player to switch quickly back to a pre-loaded launcher later.
4) Plasma grenades cannot be thrown while in launch mode (they are darkened out and you can't switch to them), however the regular pinnaple can be thrown freely.
