Boy, I wasn't expecting a courtroom showdown in this thread about Reach.

I was eager to experience an expansion on the story in Fall of Reach with epic missions and massive Spartan-Covenant engagements.

Boy, was I disappointed.

Pretty sure Halo;Reach has the biggest battles out of all the Halo games. Not as big as hoped for, but Halo;Reach campaign was still pretty amazing.

The Covenant, Sacred Icon, and The Maw felt like they had bigger conflicts than Reach.

Simply spewing a bunch of AI all over the place isn't what counts, it's the atmosphere, who's fighting who, and what you're trying to achieve.

Reach was "Oh look, a bunch of bullet sponges in the way of my objective which is ultimately to press a button, with a bad looking action sequence in the far background."

The Covenant was "Cool, Elites and humans fighting together with a bunch of air vehicles against the remaining Brute forces protecting the Prophet of Truth, which includes two scarabs we have to take out at the same time".

OT: I was expecting large vehicle battles with reliable AI against a challenging enemy (didn't think after a year, "killable" would be the best adjective for a challenging enemy) with frequent Spartan intervention. As for the multiplayer, I was hoping they'd learned alot from Beta feedback and fixed the sandbox as well as issues with the AA's.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

This.

Yeah, long campaign missions like The Covenant is what makes it worth the journey.

Especially when there is a lot happening.

Pretty sure no.

Halo;Reach campaign was still pretty amazing.

Push button to end extremely linear mission. Woo.

Trust me, I'm a campaign guy, and honestly will buy games just for there campaigns. Halo;reach has the biggest amount of enemies at one time.

Yup, lets forgot everything else and focus on that fact that missions had buttons in them.

Actually, overall, the missions had more opponents, but they were spread out over areas, and once you killed them, that was that.

Previous Halo's had bigger engagements, and long drawn out fights that added some memorable punch to them. Not to mention respawning areas for enemies as well, drawing out fights even more, making them seem much larger than they actually were.

Quality over Quantity applies here.

I give up on you. A rock floating 5 inches above the ground proves nothing. EVERY Halo game - scratch that - EVERY game has floating stuff in the campaign. Seriously that was probabaly one of the most idiotic excuses I've seen.

There is also a floating light on the Pillar of Autumn. Theres also a Floating Tree on Halo:CE, AOTCR! OMG Halo:CE was rushed and messy because of that floating tree!

-
I think you forgot about:
The Moa
The Guta
The Eagles
The red birds
The fish
The bugs

-
By New Detail, I meant the civilians, the civilians language, the civilian vehicles, the driveable forklifts, trucks, and carts, the Civilians houses, once again the wildlife, vending machines, couches, tables, etc.

BTW, I don't know if you seen the Halo 4 trailer, but its pretty much confirmed the game already has a fog and motion blur effect. Its called graphics, get used to it bro.

As for the OST? Thats your opinion which I can't change. Everything else is fact that they added.

Those floating objects? Yeah, they're OUTSIDE the normal playable area in every other Halo. Nice try. Thanks for the needless insults, though. Totally proves your point. And here I thought you were one of the few intelligent posters on the mains.

I'm guessing Reach was your first Halo, hence why you're defending it so vehemently.

You think aesthetic upgrades makes Reach's campaign better than every other one. There are no words for that.

All have been done in previous Halo installments, BTW.
