We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

Grammar doesn't matter to me. As long as it's not text talk, then i'll read it.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

I before E except after C, or if it says "a", as in "neighbor" and "weigh".
And in hundreds of other words.

The rule is no longer taught in schools because there are so many exceptions to it.

Any questions about anything, PM me. The only stupid question, is the one never asked.
"But, doctor...I am Pagliacci."

I hate you unless I'm drunk.

I did actually. I spent a few of my days off watching QI on YouTube.

Funny thing about the title.

There are more words that are exceptions to that rule than there are words that follow the rule.
Did you learn that from Stephen Fry like I did? XD

Is spelling words correctly something that makes you read a post?
Kind of. Some posts are impossible to read; but I'll probably be forgiving of someone who misspells otorhinolaryngological as otarhinolaryngological and leaves no other errors.

Is grammar another thing that makes you read the post?
Well when the user is typing like this with absolutely no punctuation at all it's pretty hard to understand what he is trying to say but I still do my best to comprehend it although
I might just ignore it if it's a wall of one sentence text.

And lastly, is a knowledge of the subject something important?
Even an idiot can contribute to discussion; although, I'm very annoyed when people try to sound informed on subjects they don't understand (Wikipedia is not a degree).

Are all of these attributes important for a good post?
Kind of. They help.

Is the use of memes in the wrong way another thing that turns you off of a thread?
If a thread's value is based solely on the accurate use of a meme. In which case I'm unlikely to visit the thread anyway.

That stuff isn't all that important to me in a post as long as the intended meaning is clear to me. I hate to judge based on that, especially when I don't even know where the OP is from. For all I know English is that person's second or third language.Posted by: ImTriForceGuy

That's not the whole "I before E" rule. It's actually:

I before E
except after C
or when sounding like -ay
as in neighbor and weigh

Somehow, a lot of us only got the first half of the rule.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

I won't take a post that contains bad grammar and/or spelling as seriously as one that is written well.
