Months ago, before the Custom Halo Map Making thing was even mentioned, we thought about how sweet it would be to make your own Multiplayer map. So we thought of this idea...

A Halo-esque temple made from carved stone and huge blocks. Its several stories deep, sorta like the structure in Silent Cartographer. For the sake of pictureing it in your head, think of the silent cartographer island. So the main room is the first level, its under ground, but it has a high ceiling. Its rectangular, and there are several exits to the room. The ceiling has 4 openings that are spaced along the length of the room. The openings are made in such a way that, as the daylight from outside streams in, Halo-esque glyphs are painted on the floor far below. The catch is that this room is almost entirely dark except for these "columns" of light ( hmmm, maybe there can be seven openings...). So imagine entering this huge dark room, you look around for enemies, check your motion detecter... the coast is clear, you see a power up or a rocket launcher waiting on one of the illuminated glyphs and you head towards it. Youre about to snatch it up when, BAM, someone who was sitting still in the shadows unleashes a shotgun blast. Under this room would be a ramp that descended a bit then turned sharply in the opposite direction and descended more, sorta zigzagging down. There would also be a ladder that went from the bottom to the top of this snaking ramp way. Somewhere at the bottom of this level would be a room, approx 30 feet by 40 feet with two teleporters on the far ends, and entrances on the other two. The catch here of course, its pitch black. That's right, you -blam!-es have gotta use your motion tracker and your flashlight to make sure no body is waiting in here.
And one last idea, which isnt necessarily part of this map, but a similar room , the only one on the map with an over shield and camo, two entrances. Whenever two or more players enter the room at once, the doors lock, the lights go out and they dont unlock or turn back on until one man or team is left.

This post was probobly too long and everybody people who saw this most likely passed right over it. Oh well i had fun sharing these ideas.

Halo 2 makes me giddy.
