Wildkyle's steps and Revear's slight corrections were the best two tip posts I've seen in a long time. They were thourough and well-written and right on the money.

what i do on that big hill by red base in blood gulch I take only 1 shot then crouch so nobody can see me behind the rock for 15 seconds then take another. A lot of the people online are impatient so they wont stare at that rock for 15 seconds waiting for me to pop up. Its a good strategy and I always result in least deaths.

Oh I wait. I love to outfox snipers. I will hide minutes to get an enemy sniper. But your right I use it too. Most people won't wait or get distracted by nearby combat.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Never stay still when sniping. If you are hiding somewhere, make sure after you take one shot, you MOVE. Never stay in the same place. Lead your shots, and if someone is running at you shooting, always go in a zigzag pattern. Your not 100% safe from snipers or death, but it does make you harder to hit for a lot of inexperienced snipers.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Try shooting enemies in the head, they turn as one shot kills, not much ammo used and kills faster. Also try shooting from a safe distance if you aren't much experienced.

Hmm, that's not always the best strategy, because I often teleport out to and go back round to flank people who do that, and they'd be sitting ducks if staying still. I find that the best strategy to counter that stuff.

Actually that depends. If they're running directly at you firing an AR, stop for a brief second, laugh and shoot them twice very fast. It's the only time to really stop dodging.

I most strongly disagree for the first part - never try specifically aiming on the head except for stationary targets - it's simply too easy to miss and you'd have to take another shot anyway with no damage to enemy. Also, you WANT to use up your ammo in most cases - usually there's going to be an enemy who's quite alot better than you with the rifle and you do NOT want to let them get it. staticx576 for example.

I would suggest for sniping to make sure you are having your scope zoomed in at least once so your ability of hitting them is a better percentage. For the most part i dont use the sniper rifle as often as other such weapons but just understand that their are other better weapons!

camping s a strategy, get over it, gues what real life cameprs are called....................................................... .................................Snipers.
Ironically, that is quite true. My father watches me playing Halo PC and Halo 2 and he always tells me whenever I die, "Why do you keep going out into the open like that? Instead of going to them, wait for them to come to you." But alas, as much common sense as that is, it isn't too practical in video games, in this case, Halo. Halo isn't chess, where one must carefully plan his/her strategy, anticipate the enemy, and use one's resources to the fullest. It's more like checkers, where you play it like chess, but much less so.

This might seem impractical, and rather... insane.... but try learning how to use the sniper rifle in close quarters. A.k.a., no-scoping.

People always complain that the pistol is like a minature sniper rifle.
Well, then, the sniper rifle therefore MUST be an oversized pistol and is GREAT for firing at any time. (No, seriously, use the sniper rifle like a pistol - it's actually great in close quaters with no-scope - hell, it's great at all distances without a scope, just even BETTER at long distances WITh a scope. I <3 that sniper rifle.)

But there's a random element, and there are lots of players... so, a better analogy would be like Risk. Or maybe monopoly? Then again, there's sometimes a lot of co-operation, but reflexes are involved... I have the analogy! Halo's like an online FPS. Yes.
