its in a bad spot. why? a Major and by major I mean 9.0 or higher earthquake is way way overdue in that region from the Cascadia Subduction Zone that would produce results very very similar to the Japan earthquake.

this is a simulation of down town seattle in ONLY a ~7.5 the subduction zone quake could be 9.0 or higher.

it has been estimated by experts that the chance of such an earthquake happening in the next 50 years is 1 in 3.

thoughts?

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

Things like these happen all the time. I live close to the New Madrid seismic zone and there was supposed to be this all big and bad earthquake that was supposedly going to harm the state of Arkansas, the scientists had all the stuff calculated and such and had it pinned down to a single date when it was going to happen.

Guess what happened. Nothing.

In fact my aunt took her kids out of school so they could live their last moments together (I don't even want to think what she was like on Y2K).

So I'm actually moving to Seattle in August. I'm not going to throw a ton of -blam!- away and not move to a place I'm happiest because there's the possibility of a 9.0 earthquake.

I'm currently in Wyoming. An entire corner of our state is a volcano. I can see Yellowstone from my back yard. I'm just as -blam!- here as I am in Seattle.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."
