Subject: If you were given the chance

Two makes there more than speakers.

Tiny almost rustled my jimmies, but then I realized he's trolling.
OT: I wouldn't really enjoy it as much, so I guess no.

Most only make 20k a year. I'd rather stay in school.

Plus, MLG Reach is garbage. Halo 3 MLG events killed Reach.

20k a year for gaming doesn't seem that bad.

Some are still underaged and would be barely out of high school.
Take 2-3 years break to play and get money.
Collect cash.
Then go to college with a decent amount of cash in pockets.

20k a year, playing video games 8 hours a day. Living in moms basement.

sounds like a fantastic life to me.

  • 03.25.2012 5:52 PM PDT

Definitely not. I don't play this game that often, nor do I have the time to.

No. It's way too time consuming and I have much more better things to do. Two years ago I participated in a Halo 3 MLG tournament and won some good cash, and also filled in for an absent player for a team. Never, again.

How many 16 year old kids can brag about making 20k a year?

This is a bigoted view. I can understand why one wouldnt want to do it but looking down upon those who can is rather mean.
My best friend almost did for halo 3, but he stopped playing halo so much to hang out with friends more. You know, something more meaningful in life.

I feel like a lot of people saying no would say yes if they thought about it more. We arent talking about spending the rest of your life being a pro gamer, just doing it during your high school/college days maybe up until your early 20s at the latest.

I personally wouldnt just because moving around everywhere would be too much of a hassle but I still feel as thought a lot of people saying no would in fact go pro if given the chance.
That would be a very short career for me then. Besides college puts too much burden on time management.

You know, something more meaningful in life.

I never understood this argument. It's not up to other people to assign for you the things that should/shouldn't have importance.

If you were 6'7, 275 lbs, good at football, and extremely athletic but somebody told you that your game wasn't "meaningful", would you stop trying to pursue it at a professional level?

I'm talking about meaningful to me and how my friend felt. If you find playing a video game professionally is that important then do it. I would rather get my degree in nursing and help people live.

Halo without Bungie is like a cookie made without love.

I'm the second best Halo 3 player in Puerto Rico. I would deny it. So much better gaming leagues out there.

as long as it was default reach and not the bull playlist "MLG"
Default reach is not competitive at all.

>Slow player speed - highlights camping
>Skill inhibitor (bloom) - adds randomness
>Jetpacks break the maps
>Unbalanced maps (red side reflection/swordbase)

Try MLG, its a lot better for competitive play.
