Poll: Warhammer 40k, Starcraft, and Halo vs  [closed]
Necrons, Protoss, and Forerunners:  67%

Tyranids, Zerg, and Flood:  33%

Necrons, Protoss, and the Forerunners team up to fight the Tyranids, Zerg, and Flood. All the factions are at their strongest. The Necrons, Protoss, and Forerunners are in control of the Milky Way. The Flood and Tyranids have effectively surrounded the galaxy and are attacking on all sides. The Zerg occupy the space usually inhabited by the UNSC and parts of Covenant space. In addition the Flood and Nids have several footholds inside the galaxy.

Some things to be aware of:
WMDs like the Halos and Celestial Orrey are not permitted.
Each faction's method of FTL is working. For example, Slipspace is uncrowded allowing the Flood and Forerunners easy travel.
The faction members will not try and hurt the other factions they are allied with.

Who do you think will win?

You must have missed the huge Star Wars/Halo vs thread. They are nothing new, and we have very little to discuss at the moment.

The Flood consumes all...

Do the Forerunners have Mendicant and Offensive bias? If so, they win...Assuming either of them don't defect to the Flood.

Forerunners have Offensive, Flood have Mendicant.

Going with Tyranids, Flood, and Zerg. The Flood came close to defeating the Forerunners and was only stopped by the Halos, and the Tyranids easily outnumber every other faction by a long shot. Don't know much about the Zerg, but they don't seem like a slouch either.

Going by Lore, Necrons would beat Tyranids.

Why?

Tyranids are biological based, necron's cannot be melted down in acid pools. Nor can they be captured (Phase out). Necron weapons are Guass based, it ignores armour of tyranids and would simply be useless.

Flood would get beat by Forerunners:

They survived the Flood, we already know they are the new threat in Halo 4 or atleast make an apperance.

Zerg are meh. They are reliant on numbers, and a single necron monolith would particle whip them and they would simply die. Not to mention a ball of Collosus would destory most zerg armies.

Tbh; A better comparison would be Imperial Guard, instead of Necrons as in terms of Lore necrons in theory could beat every single one of these races.

Tyranids can hurt the 'Crons. The Codex says several tomb worlds were destroyed by Hive Fleet attacks. I would also like to point out that the Flood has Mendicant Bias. He is an extremely competent strategist and very nearly defeated the Forerunners before the Halos fired.

Tyranids completely avoid Necron engagements. Necrons are simply in too much of a Advantegous position.

The current nid codex states that the tyranids avoid any necron tomb worlds in their path.

Tyranids do everything possible to avoid Necron tomb worlds. Also, I doubt they did destory a Tomb world. Even a Imperial Fleet couldn't get near one.

Necron Tomb worlds are covered by Necron Pylons and surrounded by Warp storms in many cases (Medusa IV campagin, necron objectives).

Tomb worlds are simply inpeneratable. Tyranids do not fight Necrons because it's a waste of Bio-mass. They get nothing in return for fighting them. Not to mention Tomb worlds lack any form of Life. So what would be the point?

Necrons likely see Tyranids as little threat. In fact they likely want Tyranids in the galaxy as their objective is to wipe out life. Tyranids do this for them.

Retconned in new Codex. Tyranids attack and destroy several tomb worlds.

I have no idea what Codex you are refering to.

The latest Tyranid Codex is 5th Edition (2010).

Which states the following:

"Two minor tendrils of Hive Fleet Behemoth make major course corrections in order to avoid conflict with the Necrons of Solemnace."

Forerunners have Offensive, Flood have Mendicant.

Ehhh, either way Offensive is better, he was able to beat Mendicant's fleet of 4.1 million ships with 11,000 of his own...So yeah....

The 5th Ed Necron codex has the Silent King reawaken many tomb worlds to combat the Tyranids. His fear is that the Tyranids will conquer the galaxy and become too strong for even the Necrons to defeat.

If the Tyranids did indeed attack several Tomb Worlds, it seems likely that the Tomb Worlds were not fully activated and/or had damage stasis crypts.

The only reason he did that was because the Halo Rings rendered much of Medicant's fleet useless. Offensive effectively outnumbered him 6:1 after the Rings.

OT: I have no god damned idea. Once a precipice is reached, the 3 hive races would mathematically be unstoppable, but they need to get there first...

SC = Supreme Commander/Supreme Canadian.

De Facto leader of the military of the APE (Allied Planets Empire).

Coup = Admiral Asskicker, ZPM hive ship

...First off, the Protoss are a non-factor. It's more of the 'Crons and Forerunners working together while the Protoss run the hell away very fast. Maybe they'll do good in hit+run attacks against low enemy concentrations while being escorted by a decent sized Forerunner capital ship, but...

I have a feeling that eventually it will turn into a Bolivian Army ending. Didn't one of the nid codices say that the nids have eaten an entire galaxy cluster before?

If so, the Necrons and Forerunners slowly lose ground against the never-ending Von Nomman swarm. I would say that the Forerunners would hide in slipspace, but seeing as how the Flood probably has some Forerunner ships with FTL capability lying around, and has probably shared that with the Nids and Zerg, nowhere is safe.

...wow, I feel depressed.

True, but I daresay that the Tyranids have never consumed a galaxy with Necrons in it before.

Also, I read somewhere in the new codex or in the new books that the Tyranid incursion may actually have something to do with the 4th C'tan, the Outsider, as in that he/she/it may have had some hand in bringing it to the 40K galaxy

@Klassen
Tyranids have destroyed at least 1000 galaxies according to WD.

@rst
Unlikely because the codex said that all the C'Tan were broken into shards. The old codex also shows Leviathan taking great pains to avoid a Necron Dyson Sphere outside the galaxy which was implied to be the Outsider's prison. That being said, there are many C'Tan shards missing and there is a possibility that the Outsider's shards may be some of them.

And aren't the nids running from something in the process?

I don't know enough about warhammer as i do about halo but seeing as the necrons can Phase out not to mention won't be wrecked by the nids and the forerunners have the shield worlds and can cause stellar collapse; I think they would be able to hold off an infection but if they are fighting a full blown one or it gets to be that big then they are screwed without some combined megaweapon.

I would have to know more about Necron space technology but i am sure a minor infection could be halted.
