Subject: Halo Network Problem (Yes, another one)

Hey,

Sorry, I realise this is probably another post on a topic that has been answered more times then I would like to know - But I'm having troubles with using the search function of this page and well, I'd prefer to get back to my halo noob-owning as soon as possible. :)

Anyway, the problem my friend and I are having is that whenever we try to play Reach Multiplayer at his house, some of his network conditions appear as "Undetected". I believe that this is the reason we're getting booted from games during the "Voting Rounds".

Does anyone know what the problem is? He doesn't seem to be having problems with other games - Gears of War lets us in quite easily and with no apparent connection issues.

If anyone can perhaps leave an answer below or forward a previous answer that'd be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Neva.

More then likely the game DISC, if you "load fail" three maps, on the third, you will be kicked from the game.

Edit. Clean the disc, download the game onto the hard drive, might fix your issue, if its not a loading issue, then i have no idea.

I don't believe it to be the game disc, it works fine at my own home. No problems whatsoever.

Do you get an error that says "loading error, new voting round initiated", or something along those lines? If you do its a disk problem.

My other guess would be your NAT type may be strict which is making it difficult for you to connect to others in game. What does it say in your network status page (in the main menu)?

Yes, that's exactly where the problem is happening.
NAT says it's OPEN.
The disc is a little scratched, but it is weird that it would work at my house and not his. Perhaps it's because we're trying to play HD on his television whereas I don't at my house(?)

Will have to go see if I can get the disc cleaned or something.

Thanks for the prompt response.
If anyone else has an answer, please post below.

The Network status saiys "Packet Loss" and "Upstream Bandwidth" are undetected.

RIP Bungie Service Records. You shall be missed.

Your problem is your disk. Get it cleaned.

Yes, that's exactly where the problem is happening.
It's almost certainly a disk problem in that case. If you have a spare disk (that's not scratched) try installing the game onto the hard drive (you can do this from the Xbox dashboard). Then you can play with a scratched disk and it cause anywhere near as many problems.
NAT says it's OPEN.This is the best setting you can have so it's not a problem.
The Network status saiys "Packet Loss" and "Upstream Bandwidth" are undetected. This is not a problem, by playing more you will eventually get entries here.

Usually downloading a game onto your harddrive helps with connection issues, also check your internet connection.

Thanks, I appreciated the responses.
I will go get it cleaned soon and revert back.

Yeah, it was as simple as just getting the disc cleaned.

Thanks for all your posts.
