I think the so-called 'fans' are being incredibly fickle.
First of all, I want to make the point that this is a piece of virtual armour you get in a video game. Many of you seem to be losing sleep over this, do reassess your priorities in life. Halo 3 is almost half a decade old now, back in the day it was YOU who were the ones demanding that Bungie release Recon to everyone with the endless forum spamming of "can i haz recon?".
The effort we put in with the VidMasters isn't now invalidated as so many of you are whining about; think back to when it was announced that the VidMasters would give people Recon, nobody who already had it (or at least, very few people who already had it) were complaining that others were getting it. It was, yes, the FANS who were complaining that it was becoming available because it would "lessen the importance of those who were given it as a gift".
-blam!- please... These things happen, get over it. Again, it's armour that has no value other than aesthetic obssession.
The game is now almost 5 years old, it was one of the most popular games on XBL up to 2010 and has sold millions of copies. Chances are, many of you don't even play it anymore, you're too enamoured by other games on the market; but to the few that do still play it (like me), are you seriously that fickle to get worked up about a piece of armour that's already available to everyone?
What you call "the real work" for getting Recon was actually from 2007-8 where fans would have to break their backs doing ridiculously awesome things for the community or winning tournaments, if you don't have Recon 3 years on from when it became so widely available then do you really deserve it? No, if you've not been able to get it for 3 years then it's clear you're not good enough for the worth you've attributed to it. But you're getting it anyway so there's absolutely bollock-all reason to complain.
Don't even get me started on the feeling of 'entitlement' people feel for getting flames...
Thats a nice novel you wrote there.
In Layman's terms: "This guy has a point, in fact I actually realise how fickle I'm being... but I don't want to look like I'm wrong so I'll dodge this with a half-assed attempt at humour."
Besides, if you call that 1 post a 'novel' I can judge that you've probably never read a book with more than 20 pages.
mirite?
No your not. I was never being fickle about this. I don't have the armor so I was actually exited about this day, so you fail.
Oh and since you wanna talk about education its *realize*. :)
Did I insult you by saying "Thats a nice novel" in such a way that you had to say that? Seriously, you are immature.
It's not 'realize' in England, it's 'realise'...
Ha! I'm the immature one when you're incapable of constructing a competant response to a post, when one just says something as blunt as "that's a nice novel" the general context it's associated with is "I couldn't be arsed to read what you've written so I'll post something stupid about it instead". If that wasn't your intention, you should have made that clear.
You are missing a huge point here. Notice how you have not made a comment on the fact that you were wrong in the first place about me being fickle. The reason I wrote "Thats a nice novel you wrote there" was to be funny. So what in the world would want to make you insult me? What did I say that was stupid about your original post? "Thats a nice novel" if you bothered to think was sarcasm for "you wrote alot". Thats what makes you immature.
