If for no other reason, just to add it to my portfolio. It would be completely nonprofit, and completely fun. The entire game would be created using 100% free software, as to show just how powerful those tools are. I have been coding for some time now in java, and need to move to a new (more powerful)language. I've also modeled in blender, though I'm no good at it, and made an incredible amount of 2d things in fireworks (it's like photoshop). I have won awards before for my art, so I can also make concept art. Now, that's what I have to offer. Bnet community, who of you would like to make a game with me? Please post below what kind of position you would like to have and what kind of skills you have. If enough people are interested, I will start a user group for it. Thanks!

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

I know some free Game Engines:

UDK

Unity

You WILL Need Adobe Flash for HUD creation

You need to be able to use AS2, so does Macromedia flash support that? (Actionscript two)

He threw down a glove you made the mistake
Of picking it up now you're gone
The choosing of guns or fighting with swords
The choice of weapons is done
He'll tear you apart as soon as you start
You know you don't have a chance.

I'd say go for C++ with no middleware or C# with XNA.

1. Use the existing free game engine platforms and decide on device or platform support up front.

2. Focus on story, concepts, artwork, models, textures, sprites, and animation etc more than coding.

3. Decide on a time frame and assign responsibilities, then stick to them!

4. Design, Develop, Test & Redevelop to iterative releases.

5. Test the hell out of the thing. No one likes a bug ridden unplayable game.

Look at Tetris, a simple idea that caught on massively. Look at mario cart on N64, simplistic but damned fun. That is my advise anyhow.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I want to make a game too. I have all the ideas but not the skill huhu

I agree as these are simplistic(in my opinion) languages to learn but pretty powerful so you can get started fast. If you wish for networking or online playability then Aspnet and SQL for networking and database programming, respectively.

I've tried learnin mySQL in the past, but I haven't ever really implemented it. lol
