Picture this:
If the Ark isn’t on earth and the forerunner artifact is maybe just a portal, than picture this scenario of the final battle for the fate of humanity, the covenant, the Arbiter, the Master Chief, the Gravemind, the Flood, Johnson, and everyone else in the galaxy:
The Ark sits alone in space, a single, half sphere with a Forerunner city jutting out of the top (kinda like Cloud City in Empire Strikes Back). All is silent in the middle of space. The camera sees only a star in the distance, with a gray splotch to the side. The camera zooms in and the Ark slowly becomes visible.
You begin to hear faint comm. chatter, something about the Chief and the Ark. Then Admiral Hood’s voice becomes clear, “All ships go to battle-stations, the Covenant are here.”
The camera pulls back again and a human cruiser flies over the camera and a squadron of Longsword’s zip past. Then the camera turns to show you the human fleet laid out over a massive area, all preparing to attack. Then you hear the Chief speaking over the comm.
“Admiral, the reinforcements have arrived.”
“What reinforcements?”
Then the Arbiter’s voice chimes over the comm. and the scene moves to a Covenant cruiser’s bridge, with the Arbiter looking at the displays.
“Admiral Hood. My elites will aid you in this fight. We have a common purpose for being here, and it is in our best interests, I assure you.”
Admiral Hood returns on the comm. “I never thought I’d hear those words. Thank-you.”
“Save the thanks until this is over.”
"Very well."
Then, Cortana, who has been reunited with the Chief adds “The Covenant fleet is coming from around the other side of the Ark sir. Permission to take control of the fleet sir?”
“Permission granted.” Hood states.
“Woo-hoo! Let’s go roast some covenant ass!” Sgt. Johnson cries.
“Hoo-rah!” reply the marines aboard the Arbiter’s vessel with Johnson, Chief, and Miranda Keyes.
The camera changes to an armory where the Chief and the remaining Spartans are prepping for the final battle. “Are you all prepped to go?” Chief asks. Fred picks up his AR and -blam!- it. “Were ready.”
The camera then reverts to show a hugely wide shot of the human’s and the Arbiter’s fleet converging against the massive Prophet’s fleet that had arrayed themselves around the Ark. There are a few tense moments where commands are issued and the fleets fly closer, than the 1st volley is fired and the battle begins.
As the fleets collide, mass-carnage ensues, and in the midst of it, the main characters (Master Chief w/ Cortana, Fred, Will, Linda, and ?Kelly?, the Arbiter, Johnson, Miranda, a squad of marines and a squad of elites) fly through the heated battle to make a stealthy infiltration on the Ark. They are then followed by Phantoms carrying the heretic Covenant (Grunts, Hunters, and more Elites) Once there, they fight they’re way to the control room through both loyal covenant species (brutes, drones, jackals) and the Forerunner Guardians (multiple types of Sentinels, including ones that walk) to get to the control room where the big red button rests. There they find an automated but sentient hologram of one of the Forerunner. Who proceeds to explain the events that led up to the original activation of the halos and the reasons for doing so. The Forerunner also explains what the Gravemind is and his role (if that hadn’t been explained already) in the history of the halos. IN other words, everything is explained at the end.
Also, in the end, 1 of 2 things could happen.
1: a couple of main characters die as they use something to destroy the Ark. The Ark is destroyed, the covenant are defeated, and an alliance between the Elites and the Humans becomes solid.
2: The Chief sacrifices himself while destroying the Ark, thereby saving the human race. The explosion then engulfs the remains of the covenant fleet while the Arbiter, Johnson, and the others escape.
So what do you think? if you wanna flame me, fine, but tell me what you think.
