I know it wasn't the most popular gun in the Halo series, but I think it still should have been in Reach.

If you look at the Covenant weaponry in Reach, there is a bunch of automatic guns, such as the Spiker, Plasma Rifle and Plasma repeater.

Humans, though, only have one...the Assault Rifle.

Couldn't the SMG have been in Reach to serve as a counter for the Plasma Rifle or spiker? I always loved doing the "shoot / melee" combos in Halo 3 and thought it killed the enemy player faster than the "shoot / melee" combo for the AR.

Not that I care, but I'm warning you that if you keep posting that link on multiple threads, you will get the attention of the moderators.

Every post I see you comment on has that link

That is wrong, and I don't care. Have a nice day.

I would've liked it in Reach.
Could have let it have the fastest firing rate in the game (think same as two SMG's combined), but very poor accuracy and low bullet damage so that it cannot be used effectively at any decent range, even when burst firing like the AR, leaving that as the workhorse weapon.
The bloom would just max out as soon as you fired pretty much.

That way it tears through people in close quarters out of sheer bullet volume alone without being a one hit kill like the Shotgun or Sword, or relying straight on melees like the Plasma Rifle.

And speaking of the Spiker, they should've made that thing do serious health damage, but low shield damage. Maybe then it wouldn't be a plasma rifle clone.

I try to use the spiker but it just seems like it sucks so much in Reach. Takes forever to kill someone with it, let alone drop their shields.

Yeah, its no good sadly. They probably didn't think beforehand that they would put it in MM much, considering neither it or the Plasma Rifle benefit from the Elite target tracking thingy for other Covenant weapons.

Honestly, the more weapons, the better.

Without duel-wielding, the SMG is just another AR.

With duel-wielding, the entire sandbox is broken.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Removed.

Yes it should have been. I always think "How much better would I be off in firefight if there was another human automatic weapon".

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Yes, o liked it, it had faster ROF than the AR and in close quarters it always beat the AR

no

this game has enough useless weapons

  • 03.26.2012 12:16 PM PDT

Industrial Strength , No Brain Required.

SMG was one of the useless guns of Halo 3.

If you wanna go happy trigger use the AR.

My spartan is different now XD

i still think duel wield should of been in Reach, in halo 3 i loved using 2 SMGs, and 2 pistols. so amusing.
