screw coagulation. its all about Blood Gulch, baby!

Just a few more rocks scattered around and BAM!

Screw Rain and Fog. Its all about sunlight, bizzle!
Same map dummy.

Dynamic weather is an extrodinary idea, it would change strategy and the way everything feels. For example, Warthogs would slip and slide, Scorpions could slow down in muddy pits, etc. I think it would work out.

Why not make it affect every aspect of gameplay?

Warthogs skidding across city streets and getting stuck in the mud. Water puddles growing in real time. An ever-changing time of day. Rain, Snow, Sleet, Hail and Wind.

Why not have the option to set the time of day your match will be in and it can take place in real-time, on the 360's clock and go from there. Or one can have the option to speed the day up (25 - 30 minutes = 6 hours in game).

Imagine the possibilities for the map if we were able to go into a sunset on Earth and fight until dawn. This would be great for machinima as well, in a battle situation, which would allow for machinimators to create a battle that is truly coherent.

Rain would probably drip on your visor, cause skidding, mess with your motion sensor, and almost negate active camoflauge.

Hail would probably slightly damage your shields or make little dents in your armor depending on the intensity and size.

Clouds would block out sunlight and make the level darker.

One problem: The weather would have to be region-specific, you cannot expect snow in a desert.

The best solution is to randomize weather patterns during the battle and make a constantly changing skybox. Fighting from sunrise to sunset, a combination of wind and rain would cause bullet physics to go off the wall and rain would be a lot of fun to play in (or use as cover).

This would be truly next-generation and I hope that they include this.

The idea of rain interfering with the motion tracker is a great one, and it'd be fantastic to see weather altering gameplay like that. The same effect also occurs in "The Fall of Reach" actually.

i love it!!! i want this weather idea in the game more than anything!!!!

how about even the weather getting severe sometimes, like rain pouring down so hard you can hardly see, hail so big it could kill you if you stand outside long enough, HOW ABOUT A TORNADO!!! lol not so sure about the tornado.....

I grew up.

Ha glad I brought it up though I'm sure a lot of you had the same ideas... I noticed I have received a few group invites... I'll decide my final one at a later time. I wanted to state that we should not just keep it limited to Coag or whatever it's name might be IF it even returns (Which it should... but there's always that .01% chance that it won't lol) It would work on a lot of outdoor maps too. Of course some would have an exception like Lockout where it's always cold because it is in the mountains. But maybe the snow intensifies or the wind does on maps like that. Or if Ivory Tower were to return, the outside lighting effects change.

An example of this would be GRAW. In the map Nowhere the lighting changes throughout the match because of cloud cover up and whatnot. Let's try to keep this topic bumped to for others to give input, maybe we could actually see this in the final game!

I think that while it was raining or snowing, it would be cool if your motion tracker would start flashing contacts if you were outside. It would make for some interesting stealth elements.

Or if it affected running, and traction on ground vehicles. It would also mask your gunshots.

There could be tunnels under it that run from base to base that you could go under and people could shoot them w/explosives from above to cave in part of it.

The helmet would never fog up though. I've always wanted to play with different weather and such in multiplayer.

How can you say the helmet would never fog up?
