Honestly, bungie future database, has to be guarded by 7 gold form sword elite Al's... and you expted flood.

Actually it's guarded by future cyborg jerome (with his real future gravity hammer), with a second defense of Master Chief and the third defense... Well you'd never guess what that one is.

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

That's what I hated about ODST's story as well. A lot of people overlook this. But that forerunner relic at the end goal and then actually thinking what's the bloody point of Virgil? Really made me think how insignificant ODST's story was.

[besides the obvious, we have an engineer on our side] That legendary teaser in ODST might have been one giant banana and it wouldn't have made any difference.

They made the same mistake again with Reach. Going further though, it annoys me when people actually say that ODST's story was better than Halo 2 [People just overlook the actual story!!!}. Slightly off-topic now but it just isn't better. Sure they hit the atmosphere for gameplay with music, art direction just right and the ODST squad were more likable than noble team. But come on!

I agree because in ODST, I thought the forerunner structure was the Ark portal, but it actually wasn't! It bugged me so much.

Since when wasn't it part of the Ark portal?
Wasn't Mombasa right on top of the Ark portal, wasn't that the hole point of that city out all others getting attacked first?

I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

I don't understand why there are so many haters in this forum. Reach is obviously canon if bungie made it :\

It is pure information, the exact coordinates of Alpha Halo in the Soell system.

Also, we don't know what it's actual purpose is.

Uhhhh... Yes it was.

TBH I'd just forget about that structure, it'll never likely be explained like most franchises do with unexplained stuff (not bashing 343 it's just expected overall IHMO).

I don't understand why people hate Reach either. I'll admit that it veered from Halo tradition and I suppose it didn't "feel like Halo," but as a stand alone game it was great. Its campaign was, in my mind, the only one with significant replay value. It also had the best voice acting and dialogue, and what it lacked in story it made up for in drama. And to touch on the story for a bit, it had already been written. The games slogan was: "From the beginning, you know the end." Maybe that's why people felt it was stale.

Anyway, I don't think Bungie would have accidentally overlooked explaining a part of Reach's plot if it was really that significant. I do think more work could have been put into the campaign, but that goes for all Halo games and not just Reach. However, that's just me being the rare type of gamer that prefers campaign play to online. Still, as I have said countless times before, no Halo campaign kept me as engaged as Reach's did and still does, so I guess it's just different strokes for different folks. I liken it to Wind Waker: you either love it or you hate it.

What bungie considers canon no longer matters.

The Fact the PoA should be a skeleton yet it is in perfect condition.

The Fact it wasn't built for atmopshere and is functioning in one

The Fact it somehow evaded hundreds of covenant ships in orbit twice

The CSS not destroying the PoA when it could have not to mention the ship could have been destroyed from orbit.

Halsey knowing something important was a the Location on the sigma crystal- important enough to change the war (Which pretty much rewrites halo)

The stupid plan to let reach fall to capture a covenant ship was approved by ONI which killed millions yet halsey is getting flak for something that was also approved by ONI.

How nobody noticed half of reach being on fire.

This.
My main problem with Reach is that after the first Super Carrier is "discovered" all of a sudden everything is getting burnt and turns to desert. The next cutscene is Noble walking through some burnt out area - there was a whole story there that was removed.
Reach could've been longer and more in depth; but overall I enjoyed it.

I doubt it's a Flood containment facility, they wouldn't want to risk the Flood getting loose, especially when they know there would be a civilization living on the world, accidently let the Flood out, ruining the Forerunners' sacrafices.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Reach aint canon so nothing.

No I'm pretty sure its canon. Despite the fact that it was easily the worst and most cliche Halo game in the history of Halo games, its still canon.
