Like me, some of you might lose track of threads that you post in. To find it I either have to remember the name or go to my recent post. This other website uses a good feature, when you post in a thread a checkmark pops up next to it. It indicates that you posted in it, If Bnet had this feature it would be helpful to keep track of threads if you are having multiple discussions.

Image for reference.

What do you think?

I think it would be good if we had this feature and the save thread feature.

Or you could just save the thread? But what your saying could be easier. I don't post that much so i'm not really that bothered. I'm sure however, that this would be handy for other members.

Interesting idea for a feature.

Did you make the pic yourself?

I only use the save thread feature if it's an announcment or a long read. Not really for keeping track of discussions.

No that pic is from my second favorite website, 405th.com.

The second post is because I hit post when I thought I hit edit.

My first favorite is Bungie.net of course.

It's not a bad idea. Even so, a lot of the time, the only reason for me to need to keep track of that sort of thing in forums is because I want to see if anyone is talking directly to me. I always thought that a notification area where you can see when people quoted you would be cool, but I also understand that there are typically performance or "reasonability" restrictions on a feature like that, especially with the scale of this site.

Not to say that my feature and yours couldn't coexist. That said, it's likely that your suggested feature would have performance implications as well - I'd assume that more data would have to be retrieved per thread to be able to obtain that information, even if the information is cached or stored somewhere when you post instead of constantly pulled from the database.

I'd say that the best way to consider weeding out the posts you don't care about, or getting relevant information to you over the rest of the noise, is to disregard the structure when brainstorming and think outside the box. Personally, I'm unsure as to what will happen concerning all this, but I think that there's a lot of ambition going on behind the scenes to make these forums better, and not just by tacking features onto the already existing product. Of course, that argument could be applied to many feature suggestions here, even my own, and your idea certainly would be nice regardless.

Interesting idea. It could have some potential.

Personally, I'd like a feature that once I've posted in a thread, that I could click on a link that would take me to the last time I posted in a particular thread. That way I don't have to remember if I'm on page 7, 8, or 20...

That's a cool suggestion.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

It's a neat suggestion, but I think it could easily be solved just by saving the thread. You can still keep tabs on all your discussions, and when the discussion dies down, it's as simple as deleting the save.

Who the hell do you think I am?

I really, really, really, don't like forums set up that way. If I think somebody is going to reply to me I keep a tab of the thread open.

I'm tired of posting threads because I put thought into it and then it gets no attention. Butt win sumpersun putts the anglish languague on dath row, it goes flaming in 5min.

Join SIP today! We smell good. Promise.

It's like a gigantic snowball, rolling down a mountain, eating kids on the way.

I like it.
I always save threads but never get around to going back to them.

Always a walk down nostalgia lane when i look at it :)

I love you [b]

I love you! Put a pin with pg. # of your post like that in saved threads. And it gets a green highlight when someone else responds or posts. Always goes to your post in pin. Op in title,
gaze starside.

I don't really see why we would need such a feature since we can already save threads as well as bookmark/favorite the webpage.
