I pray to god they will, since it was one of the best concepts of the original, and i don't have xbox live. The reason why i think they won't have it is because they're always talking's about Live, and not once have i heard them say anything about offline split-screen multi.

Just wanted ur input on this topic, thanx.

My purchase of Halo 2 is not set in stone, just for these types of reasons. None of the basics have been confirmed. If there's no split-screen, I will not buy it. If there's no co-op, I probably won't buy it.

A non-deciding factor (but a bonus and my love points for Bungie++) would be bots in multiplayer. I don't have Xbox Live, either. I live in a small town in Illinois and can't get it.

Why, you ask, do they not use it for all these demos?

Why use splitscreen when you don't need it? Personally, I'd be more than happy to bring my own XBox, game, controller, and television to a LAN if I get an entire screen to myself, and we can still have sixteen player games.

Ready for this:
Highly anticpated sequel = lots of features
lots of features = everything about prequel + more
everything about prequel = split screen

You know the guys at Bungie are smart enough to put in split or better.

Jesus, people, they said that they were including split screen. They didn't exhibit split screen multiplayer at E3 because it would have been -blam!- to go to their booth and have to share a screen with some guy u don't even know. Besides, they wanted to show the new features of their multiplayer, and split screen isn't one of them; by showing split screen the viewer would have to divide his attention between multiple screens.

Of course they will have splitscreen. They wouldn't want it to be worse or more expensive than Halo.

Split screen has become somewhat of the devil in my eyes, because it's so hard to play with one-fourth of a TV screen. I honestly don't care about its fate, but don't see any reason for it to not be there. It'll probably be there. Just realize that Bungie is getting the XBoxes they need from Microsoft, so if they don't want to split screen at E3, they don't friggin have to.

Because not everyone lives in a higher-populated area and can do that. There are two people in the town that I live in with Xboxes. I'll be damned if I have to bring my Xbox to his house just to play against him. The whole point of having four slots on front of the Xbox is for this reason: so we don't have to lug everything around, such as televisions, Xboxes, etc.

Read both the bold parts, then think. It is asked "why don't they use it for their demos." Then it is asked why they'd use split screen when they didn't need it? Perhaps Shishka should have left those two lines in a paragraph, and then started a new one. But in your case, it sounds like you need XBox Live.
