I've snapped at least 3 H3 discs and almost destroyed my Xbox 360 because of it's campaign design yet I end up buying it and playing it again. In fact, the ms points I could have used to get Reach were spent on my most recent copy of H3...
It's evil!! (but then again, it allowed me to create replay value).
I've always wondered, how much time do you spend on average at arranging your massive AI battles and stuff? Your videos are always interesting to watch but I can never stop thinking how much time did their creation take from you. Plus the finding of the ways to even gather that much AI into one place.Things that might take people weeks took me days or a single day. At least 50% of my time was sacrificed to meet my expectations.
But time is only one thing. There were other factors that made the AI collections a pain in the ass.
My 60+ Councilors army in H2 takes me up to 12 hours yet isn't difficult at all. Just tedious. While my H3 Hornet army took me around 6 hours and is not only tedious but also a pain in the ass because of poor AI prioritization concerning vehicle seats and how it was difficult to get the Hornets untangled.
But this, that was the most exhausting work I ever did in H3. I managed that collection after a heck lot of attempts, only losing 1 Brute and 1 Grunt. The entire thing cost me my sanity and my tolerance of H3's campaign.
It was excruciating, transferring the AI from the third tower to the snow area and containing them there. Often, the AI would run back to the third tower if given the chance. They could also engage the enemies. Either of those could slow down or ruin the setup, resulting in a revert... There was also the problem of friendly AI spawning in vehicles at various points as well as suicidal enemy AI drivers driving off the level. In addition, the Brute piloted Wraith would often collide with other Brutes if not taken care of soon enough, damaging or removing their power armor. Finally, moving the friendly AI. I swear, that cost me a lot of time. Required a lot of pushing (to get them where they are now. Obviously, I used the hog to get them to the 2nd lookout tower area).
