If you can switch grenade types why not be able to switch ammo types suck as picking up aromor piercing rounds, or explosive tipped riffle rounds, or hollow tips who knows but i just thought it would be an odd idea... new ammo everyone... new ammo

that would be pretty cool. but, i'm not sure how they could do that on the controller, every button seems to be taken.

Heh heh, shredder rounds. It would be great to tear through a grunt.

Dawn of the Dead video Here
6 Minutes of Hell video here

It can be used if thats your preferred method of movement. Plus, why make seperate ammo types when it would be easier to just make a different weapon?
Although I can see the benefiets of using an AR shooting say HE rounds to bring someones sheild down fast, then switching to say armor piercing to finish off the kill. Whatever descision bungie makes, I'm sure they will do it well.

Problem with that (assuming you have any interest in reality) is that the entire weapon would be loaded with that type of ammo. To switch what kind of round you're firing you would have to remove the ammo clip, cycle the gun chamber to eject the round that's already loaded (we're talking automatic weapons here) put a new ammo clip in, and cycle the chamber again to get a new round in place. That's about three times your normal reload time to switch ammo types - not something I'd want to do in the middle of a firefight.

Also, isn't there already a weapons ideas thread?
