There will always be idiots that think there too good to play normaly and they will want to cheat. someone will come up with a way. not to be so negative.

  • 05.29.2006 2:36 AM PDT

Where theres a will, theres a way.
People always find a way to bend the rules to their liking. Always. Have you seen what people have been doing to their hard drives just for a gamerscore?!

Look at what I discovered.
Just look at that XSATA thing. It's only a matter of time before people are cheating/modding again.
Oh boy. <_<

Yes, it is quite ridiculous.

If I do catch a cheater in H3, I will literally hunt him down and "mod" his ass with a fail-proof shotgun...

Why not allow players to start their own servers and the host can ban anyone cheating. This is also more fun than having to make new friends just to play a invite only server. So, cheating is regulated and you have less random gameplay.

Imagine if you were given the ability to host your own server. There are so many little kids for one that wouldn't know what to do properly, and two, all the -blam!-holes (I typed the blam myself lol) would just boot everyone on the opposite team except for 1 person, and get an easy win. Players should not be able to control boot options.

we definitely should NOT have dedicated servers. You know how it gets laggy when one person is trying to connect to you and lags the whole game? Now imagine someone trying to connect to a server. He'll lagg the whole server up, inlcuding everyone on that server. so say NO to dedicated servers

I think in Halo 3 there will probably be no standby or modding but there will definitaly be network bridging because even Microsoft can't stop that with all the money they have.

Standby can never be truely stopped... there's no way they can stop people from pressing the button. Modding however is stopped. A local modder kept complaining to us at our LAN center how the HD is just to complicated to bypass its security. And don't tell me they can just replace the harddrive, each HD has a specific code that allows the HD to run with a 360 ONLY. Bridging, will probably never stop, that has something to do with IP, which Bungie cannot affect. Hopefully they will find a way...

True, but there's really nothing anyone can do about it, unless Halo 3 Cheater Genocide is on your to-do list for 2007 =\

no bad idea b/c if u r winning and the other team is a bunch of jerks who think whenever they lose is b/c some1 mods, what if the just give u the boot to help them win?

It's not exactly as if they could stick an on/off switch on the xbox 360 for cheating. I agree that there should be no more cheating, but let's face facts. No more cheating isn't exactly so easily achieved as it is verbalized.

Actually they probably could with all their money, but yeah I get what you were trying to say.

And yeah I hope they at least get rid of the modding and standbying, the host thing doesnt really worry me as I always get paired with Americans and I am usually a lone Aussie so we never get host.

I think Bungie should not make the host thing go by country, it should be the best connection no matter where you are from.

Well thats not nessesarily true... Bungie and/or Microsoft can stop ANY cheaters simple as this...how about if they catch you cheating they ban you acc for a day or so... the next time a week.. third 2 weeks and fourth permanant ban of that account....now see your probly saying " well modders and cheaters make ALT ACC's to boost their friends....well why not ban the IP Adress from going on live... or Ban the Serial code on the Xbox/ Xbox360...or Ban their Xbox/ Xbox 360 from going life on Halo2/ Halo3.... if i was a modder i would stop dead in my tracks knowing i couldnt play Halo on live anymore.
