i dont know much about building games or how they run or if this is even possible but for fun, here goes...

what if the game could recognize a tampering with the code or host connection, then automatically boot whoever was responsible. i mean a code that says, when this happens to this code boot this player, or even two seperate files that watch each other and if one gets tampered with the other can identify.

its either that, or flammable Halo 3 discs.

Standby can never be truely stopped... there's no way they can stop people from pressing the button. Modding however is stopped. A local modder kept complaining to us at our LAN center how the HD is just to complicated to bypass its security. And don't tell me they can just replace the harddrive, each HD has a specific code that allows the HD to run with a 360 ONLY. Bridging, will probably never stop, that has something to do with IP, which Bungie cannot affect. Hopefully they will find a way...

Well thats not nessesarily true... Bungie and/or Microsoft can stop ANY cheaters simple as this...how about if they catch you cheating they ban you acc for a day or so... the next time a week.. third 2 weeks and fourth permanant ban of that account....now see your probly saying " well modders and cheaters make ALT ACC's to boost their friends....well why not ban the IP Adress from going on live... or Ban the Serial code on the Xbox/ Xbox360...or Ban their Xbox/ Xbox 360 from going life on Halo2/ Halo3.... if i was a modder i would stop dead in my tracks knowing i couldnt play Halo on live anymore.

IP's usually change unless the person in question has asked for a static IP, so that doesn't work. All they have to do in reset their modem/router to get a new one assigned. Serials yes, but M$ is money hungry so they wouldn't do that.

They may be money hungry yes but i dont pay every year to be cheated out by ###holes who think its funny or cool to cheat...Ban the Serial Numbers, is a realy good idea i think. It would stop cheating for sure... i mean if you were a chearer ( modder , stanbyer, bridger ect) and you KNEW that if you cheat you will be banned from getting on Halo then you would most likely stop cheating... and if they chose not to then so be it.. ban them for good.

Banning serial numbers would start a whole new band of people that cheated just to sell the banned boxes on eBay. Now if there were a way around that, then that would be a grrrrrrrreat idea!
