If your banned on Halo 2 over XBL, your banned from ALL games over XBL, use your damn heads.
Bungie can only ban people from their games. The xbl team does the banning for all of xbl, use your head.

If ranking is hidden, who will benefit from them? Having no ranking means game gets boring faster, nothing to fight for and the brag about. The thing with ranking being moved from H2 to H3, no, it is a different game. Same with cheating, it is a different game. It would be the same if you cheated in CS 1.6 and got banned then bought CS Source be banned from that.

In my opinion, people who ruined the experience for people in Halo 2 should not be allowed to play Halo 3. Harsh i know, but they made people unhappy and broke the Terms of Use. I think they don't deserve sympathy

Perhaps thiefs should never be alowed to buy anything ever again as punishment for stealing stuff.

Actually thats a good point. I was being a bit harsh. Maybe it is right to give them 1 more chance.

Do none of you have a sense of humour?
We do, this just isn't funny.

no cause i think modders will find it slightly more difficult... i think that they should be put on an official list, and if there is ANY problems with them, then its a ban.

hell yeah keep the bans. modding isn't only cheat but it is illegal. they should have thought of this before they broke the law.

i agree with RichardrahciR. Instantly banning them from halo 3 is a little harsh, but letting them off the hook is a bad move. Put them on a list or something foir about a year, and if they break a rule while they're on that list, re-ban them. It would hopefully make a lot of the current modders turn from this-

"i'm gonna own t3h craps outta you, snipers on midship NOW A******" to this
"do you wan't to play a game of team snipers on midship?"

There is one problem with this topic..... As far as i know nobody has modded a Xbox 360 yet so it would be hard to mod in Halo 3 without mods. Besides different game means different stuff maybe they won't have a reason to cheat.... but then again its Halo and if its ranked again then they will probably cheat when they can sooo..... I say give them one chance and thats it unless they are repeated offenders which most are. Awww screw it just carry the bans over.

Sorry to say but the 360 has already been modded many a time!

why the ranking is still there is beyond me. It started the cheating. It also causes a lot of frustration when you try to go higher, but can't because of n00b combo or cheating. The number should not be next to your name.

did you just say you can't get any higher in rank because of the noob combo??

  • 05.31.2006 9:31 AM PDT

Bottom line, get better anti cheating software, do what Novalogic does, when you log in have a program scan your xbox for modded software.

And n00b combo xX IS Xx a legit way of playing.

I personally think that after getting banned from Halo 2, that will make cheaters/modders think twice before doing it again in Halo 3. I'm also confident that Bungie will have a similar system in place in Halo 3 to detected cheaters/modders. Give them a chance. But only one chance.

They won't, just because Bungie wants those people to buy the games so Bungie can make a profit. After the game has been bought, THEN Bungie will ban as needed.

That would be great if H2 cheaters did get banned from h3 or at least really funny. But thats not going to happen and a person should get second change I guess. Not that it matters because Bungie going to make it a lot harder to cheat in H3. Right, Bungie???

Think about it, "God" is an atheist.

Bans SHOULD carry over. Make them have to buy a new account and stay legit.

Bungie matchmaking bans should be for all bungie games. Even Pimps at Sea when it's released.

They should let them play Halo3 online.
There will be no cheating because the Xbox360 is un-hackable.
I think Bungie should make an online sandbox level with a cheats menu (such as gravity level and mabey a gravity gun) where people can "mess around" like Half-Life 2 online where you can create a server where modding is alowed.

I think Bungie should send a Ninja to each rule breakers' house and garrote them one by one.

i think they shouldf be reset, like the rankings will be....

BUT dont wori fellow non cheaters, they will probably have some advanced software making it impossible for them in ANYWAY to cheat... this is xbox 360 people..

I say tag all acounts banned for halo 2 issues and all tag accounts should have strict observation for the first couple of months, any form of cheating during there "probation" period will result in a perma ban.
