Subject: ***Should Bungie make permanent bans from Halo 2 roll over to Halo ...

Don’t get mad if I flame you because you cannot spell, or because my three year old has better grammar and etiquette than you.

The main problem is that Bungie is doing the banning for cheaters when MS should be banning the live accounts and the xbox by serial numbers or Credit cards used for sign up.

I think they are way to forgiving on this topic, cheaters should be given perma bans from XBL period.

just take out the damn ranking

modders wont have a purpose anymore, they'll die out.

AMEN, or make it so only YOU see your rank.

That's not why they do it.. Cheaters are in every game, rankings or not. You're just feeding them with that attitude.

And I think permanant bans should carry over... Bungie should send Live a list of all the cheaters and "Tag-along" cheaters to Xbox Live.. Get them really banned.

CC's are the best way to ban, along with serial numbers. If XBL cared enough thats what they would do.

The only problem with banning credit cards is what if more than 1 person is using the same card?

if two 15 year old brothers are both using the same credit card, and one cheats, the other would get just as much punishment for it, even if he wasn't involved. That wouldn't work.

And what if someone sells an xbox which has been banned from xbox live? bad news for the buyer.

Cheaters should be given 1 shot to redeem themselves, no more that that. if they screw up again, perma ban them from XBL.

Taking ranks out does not stop cheating. As an example I ask you have you ever seen cheating in team training? Yes most of us have and it happens almost as much as in ranked games.

Almost as much as in ranked games? I certainly don't believe that. I've only been modded less than a few times in team training...

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

No thats just stupid the 360 was built from the ground up with high tech securiety features to stop it from being moddded even new guy KP says it's one of his favourate features of the 360. not to mention the fact that the 360 has ABSOLUTELY NO SCREWS ON THE OUTSIDE therefore in order to open the thing up the "modder" would need to crack the case to open it. this in turn would ruin his xbox

P.S. they would just make new accounts on xbl especially silver ones that allow you to play free for a month

I think Bungie should carry over every ban. Modders knew what they were doing was wrong and were already givin all the chances they deserve. They got what they asked for! Now they should have to deal with it!

Would you let drunk drivers out of jail if alcohol became illegal? No, because they're still morons. BTW you can open your 360 up, faceplate comes off first I think.

I think if you get banned from halo 2 then it should be so with halo 3 because thier bound to do it again becasue most modders suck without thier mods

Thats not true. I met a modder once, challenged him to a non-modded game on midship, 1v1. He accepted the challenge, and I got slaughtered. Then again, I don't play halo 2 alot, so it probably deosn't matter. I have seen modders beat the crap out of non-modders on non modded maps before, though.

Ive seen normal players beat modders while they were modding. It means nothing.

If half of these statements were true Bungie would have an army that rivaled Chinas population.

I used to think it would be cool
...and am also wondering if i will be able to play halo 3 matchmaking if you don't unban me. Thank you.

nope

To put it lightly, modders just got served. Frankie basically just said that bans will not go away for Halo 3. Owned.

If they don't get a second chance in Halo 2, why give them one in Halo 3?

My idea of a second chance for them: coughing up 50 bucks for a new account, then not learning and repeating the process.

The only coin for which I have to purchase loyalty is honor.

Prognatus Archos

I never modded or cheated, or was banned for that, but I always thought it was kind of funny to see people using super jump or super speed. (as long as it was not in the matchmaking games.)

  • 06.30.2006 6:41 PM PDT

i dont think they should be banned in halo 3. it is a different game so therefore the list should start over again. it would be like getting banned from H2MM going over to Call Of Duty 2 or something like that.

Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

I kinda thought it would go without saying that they would stay banned.

When I die please bury me deep!
Place an MA5 down by my feet!
Don't cry for me, don't shed no tear!
Just pack my box with PT gear!
'Cuz one early morning 'bout zero-five
The ground will rumble, there'll be lighting in the sky!
Don't you worry, don't come undone!
It's just my ghost on a PT run!

After reading a number of "The Bungie Waahmbulance" stories.... I think it would be better for everybody if those people where kept away from Halo 3 O_o

No they shouldn't as number 1, I can imagine people buying new accounts anyway for Halo 3 if they cant play it on an old one and instead of getting rid of cheaters itll just get them more money, something they REALLY dont need. 2. Im hoping there will be no reason for them to cheat anymore. The removal of the leaderboards certainly slowed down the cheaters and removal of rank would stop them having any reasom to do so. As for the nothing there to earn so the game gets boring wtf are you talking about? If your seriously that obsessed with that number that its the only thing you find fun about halo why are you still playing it.. Team training has no rank and thats still fun, Team actionsack isnt deserted and that has no rank, Snipers was rankless before they updated it and you could still get a game instantly. Basicly what Im saying is that ranks are pointless when shown, sure have em there but have em hidden so we still get the fair match. If you want something to work for heres hoping they put some insane achievements in there, and hell to make sure people wont cheat for respect put in how long it took to get em from first kill to last, i mean noones gonna believe someone got 50000 matchmaking kills in a week now are they? ( And im hopin thats an avarage difficulty achivement! This games gotta last a loooong time after all!)

Oh and btw, cheaters cheat for reaction as well as rank, more so in some cases, I cant see sitting there holding a trigger for a day in silence to be all that fun can you? Its the reaction they look for to cheer em up. So, dont give em the satisfaction and either sit the whole game out to make it last longer so they cant get as many games in, or just congradulate them in a nice friendly voice for wasting their lives. Works for me every time :D.
