Dear Bungie,

You have made some of the best times of our lives, we thank you kindly for all you have done, shifting heaven and earth to deliver us one of the best gaming experiences of all time.

Here are thanks from the community:

To Bungie, I don't know if you can read this or not but I sure as hell hope you can. Firstly I want to say thank you for everything about Halo and how much it has affected my life. I was 4 years old when I started playing the first Halo and it was my favorite to date. I am 14 years old now and I still play Halo now. It has given my dad and I a strong bond that we never could have had together without you. It has also bonded my friendship with friends all around the world and brought us closer as I played custom games, forge, multi-player and the campaign as they were some of the best experiences of my life. I just hope you read this and if you do tell EVERYONE that put the littlest detail into the game and tell them how much you have affected my life. You are the best and I will never forget your company as the joy you have brought to my heart. I couldn't find anywhere to put this post up so I put it here:') But again words cannot describe how sad I am for you's breaking up but yet again words cannot describe how much laughter and joy you have brought to me. So again on be-half of all your greatest fans including myself and my dad thank you. I cannot say thank you enough times. I hope all of you's continue to kick ass in the real world as much as you did in Halo:) So for a final time thank you. Love Ethan <3

Bungie's stat tracking has been following me since day one; my first ever Xbox LIVE match.

Just wanted to say thanks and show my appreciation. Stat tracking has been a revolutionizing tool, and I'm sad to see it go; however, I know it'll make a return with the next IP.

Thank you Bungie, and everyone involved in stat tracking.

I'd like to say how you made a great childhood for me playing Halo CE for the first time at a friends house and getting it for myself in 3rd grade, I was always excited to get home and play and was pure fun. When Halo 2 came out, I was a very happy person and my uncle bought me the collectors edition and playing it right away when I got home. Then 5th grade strikes and everyone in my class has halo 3 when I was still playing halo 2 after a few years, I was very jealous and wanted a 360 only to play Halo 3 and continue Chiefs and Arbitors story in Halo. Then in 6th grade I got a 360 with Halo 3 and was the happiest person.

All I want to say is Bungie, thanks for the precious memories, just looking at the old gameplay of Halo 2 or seeing the Halo 3 debut trailer brings me back memories and nostalgia.

Bungie, see you star side in your next game!

Bungie has finally passed the torch to 343 Industries. It's been a great 8 years or so playing Halo online, with Bungie following our stats and updating the playlists.

But good things never last

Rather then mope about my stats no longer updating, I would like to thank Bungie for their work (Even if they let Shiska go!). From Tower of Power to Grifball, Bungie has been there. Hey, if you did a job that great on Halo, your next game must be amazing.

What I'm trying to say is... Thanks. You gave me a meaning to buy Xbox LIVE, and you opened up my imagination with Forge. You filled my weekends with tears of joy and sadness, and you offered me the oppurtunity to play against you.

Good luck with your future endeavours,

A Halo fan since 2006.

Thank you bungie for all of the great halo moment and all the the great friends i made playing halo.halo has been a big part of my life sence the first time i picked up halo ce. I got halo 2 the day it came out i loved it. I probably have my fondest memories from halo 3 multiplayer from the great times in custom games to playing gb with my friends...

Thank you bungie... never stop making great games

This will be a simple post. Just saying thank you Bungie for 10 years of fun. 10 years of headshots, T-bags, and trash talking. I'm looking forward to the next 10 years and what y'all will be making.

I'd like to say thanks to bungie. I've been playing Halo for ten years now, and it's been a blast. You've made this entire universe, and it is sad to see you leaving, but you've gotta do what you gotta do. I first started playing when I was four years old, when I visited (my now ex) uncle. We played for hours on end, which I enjoyed to the fullest. When Halo 2 came out in 2004, I spent all the money I had on an Xbox and Halo 2. I was terrible at it, so I didn't play online, but completed the campaign within about 3 months. I bought Halo 3 along with Halo CE for PC in 2007 on the release day, and it's safe to say I didn't play online until 09. When reach came out, I finished the entire campaign before going to school in the morning, only to get home and complete it again with my friends.

I want to thank you for the friends you've helped me make, and I'm happy to say I still know and talk to them frequently. I even got back in tough with a friend I haven't seen in 7 years.
When I first joined bungie.net, I didn't know what I would find. Who knew that this community and the Halo universe would actually have somewhat of an impact on my life.

So, bungie, I bid you adieu, and the best of luck in your future endeavours, and thank you for everything you have given to the community.

Halo...some may say I'm a loser for saying the best moments of my life were generated from a game. But Halo is something more than just a game. I remember system link parties with my friends; the laughs, the curses, the shouts of defeat, and the celebrations of victory. Halo became a phenomenon and brought us, as well as many others, together. Halo transcended to become much more than "just a game". Thank you Bungie.

I'm usually too lazy to write something like this out. I still love Bungie for all they're done though.

I would like to say thank you, but that would make it seem like I am done having fun with your games. Screw that. I will always be here, always playing, and always having fun. But, for everything you have done so far great job and thanks.

Well here it is.... My Thank you note, straight from the heart.

Halo... Well I am at a loss for words... Dumbfounded in amazement by the massive world that is Halo. Threw the years of my life Halo has been my Light in the Darkness, guiding my path and pushing me in the right direc7ion. If it wasn't for Halo, I would be a complete "Douche Bag". Halo Has been the world for me, The greatest time of my life. Here Is how the greatest game series in the universe has benefited me. 1:I learned the meaning Honor,Respect, and Leadership skills from the Halo Clans. 2:Halo And all of its wonder and it's great and massive universe was and always will be my inspiration that brought me to becoming a Game Developer my self and has broadened my imagination for many ideas for games and years to come. 3:I gained many, many friends from playing Halo, It has always been one of my primary sources of social interaction. 4:Thanks to Bungie I have had something to occupy my time over these 10 years rather than just sitting there doing nothing. 5:Master Chief brought about my motto "NEVER GIVE UP" Because of his heroism and valiance he has always overcome every obstacle in his path. 6:I have to say my thanks to BUNGIE for the Greatest 10 Years of my life, I will always remember the fun I had in Halo, I even still play the Halo Combat evolved Custom Edition on PC all the time. But it seams you haven't given up yet. I will always remain loyal the BUNGIE no matter how bad or good you do, threw the good times and the bad you Will always be my light to guide me in my path threw this world. Thank You Bungie, Halo rocked my world like no other.... And last but not least 7:World Domination..... <Yup that is my 7th reason and if anyone that is not BUNGIE that doesn't like my 7th reason then your going to need a ton of sunblock...And I mean a lot of it.. Oh and sunglasses.

It's not going to be the same,... Halo... As a tear drops from my face as I remember all the good times I had while playing this great game. But It is in good hands And not only does Halo live on, but we are getting something new, something amazing,... Destiny awaits lurking in the shadows like a tiger, ready to pounce out proud and with honor and to take on any obstacle in it's path. I am sure that this next game will allow BUNGIE to once again light the dark path.

Good Luck Bungie I hope to play your games forever.

Man after seeing the post with the stats and them thanking the community brought a tear to my eye, I know they are still a company and they will continue to make games but with Halo being transferred to 343 and Bungie no longer touching Halo its like losing a best friend, I can't wait to see what they are going to do next, and I thank them for the best 10 years of gaming of my life.

Thank you for the countless hours of entertainment, no matter how much procrastination it caused. Thank you delivering one of the best sagas in entertainment history. Thanks for delivering solid gameplay, and addicting multiplayer. Thanks for those long nights taunting friends in chaotic custom games. Thanks for composing a soundtrack that surpasses that of most films. Thanks for making the definitive game of my life. Thank you for revolutionizing the industry with your stellar work. Thank you for your unparalleled community outreach; your website and charity work.

I <3 Bungie.

We love you bungie! You did a great job creating the halo series. See you starside!

My vocabulary will forever lack the necessary words to describe the emotions I have you guys. It's been fun; I look forward to your future and even though a simple "thank you" will never suffice, it's the only expression coming to mind that's all encompassing of what I feel and also doesn't go past the character limit.

So thanks, for the gift of halo you've given us all.

Here, here! Bungie, you shaped the person I am today. If I had never played Halo, I wouldn't be the kind, smart person I am now!

Dear Bungie,

You still owe me 42 steak dinners.

With love, A large Pie

Even some thanks form others sites:
Dear Bungie,
In 2005, my dad returned from deployment in South Korea with a couple of things. A custom jacket for me, a big blanket, and a Xbox with a copy of Halo 2. Before then, I was a huge Playstation fanboy who did nothing but hate on all competition. But then I played the first mission of Halo 2 and became hooked. Through the years, I have gone through the gamertags RespectedMark, HALOGUNNYSGT, DegradedHalo, NarutoOO7117, A 100 Bronies, and finally DHG BRONY. With my interests obviously changing, but my love for the first xbox series that I played never changed. You started me on the path of becoming a better person and trying things out before just randomly hating on them, hence how I am now a Brony. No matter what games you make, I am positive that they will be astounding. And I will make sure to buy them.
Sincerely, HALOGUNNYSGT A.K.A Kato.

Fancy joining a group, but don't wan't people too obsessed and serious? Want a group where messing around is a given?

DO YOU WANT TO BE A NINJA?

Then I have three words for you. Team Flying Ninja

Alternatively, add me and we will be happy to tell you about ourselves.

Bungie...

I cannot truly express in words the thanks I wish to give right now. It seems such a short time ago I was experiencing the crisp morning of Halo 1's release. I genuinely cannot believe so much time has passed. I know others have been with you longer... but I digress.

What have you given me? A place to grow, a place to learn. A place to forge new friendships, a place to secure old ones in battle. A place of camaraderie, a place of respect - well, for the most part anyway. A place of ecstatic victory, a place of bittersweet loss. A place that I can feel no other name to give, but home.

I have gained a peer group spanning the world. I have travelled through more circles than I dare to count, for fear of remembering those I would rather not have lost touch with. I guess this place really is a family. We laugh, we argue, we celebrate and commiserate as one. We mourn, and grieve as a community at the permanent loss of any of our own. May you Respawn in Peace, brothers and sisters.

We've had our differences, our blazing rows (and sweet, sweet make-up time afterwards). We've had our grudges, and the grudging respect that follows. Most of all, we've had people to love, to hate, to moan at, to cry with, drink with and live with. May you all live long and prosperous lives, and may you all think fondly of the time we spent here.

This will be my last post here. I'm not intending on returning. My life is advancing, I have other things changing in my life, things that - and I am loath to say it - are more important than here. I won't forget you all. Especially you, Energy Sword. Asshat :).

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thankyou. For everything.

Peace out.

Geordie.

Halo has been another part of my life for 73% of my current lifespan. Although it wasn't my life, some of the fondest memories I still have from it. From Play Halo CE with my dad, sticking him in the back of head with a plasma grenade, to playing Halo 2 with my brothers on Blood Gulch and getting up in the nook with the banshees, then getting live and Halo 3 and going for some rounds in griffball along with a shot at competitive play and a ton of time spent in the forge. Next was ODST and rounds of endure, and to conclude it all Reach, where I kept up with all the weekly challenges for a while, blasted in Invasion, and pimped out my Spartan.

On top of those experiences you made a unique and memorable storyline that I to this day think is one of the greatest ones ever made. You made a loved universe, and sold millions of copies of it.

Thank you Bungie for all those years at fun. Although some may call it wasted, I cherish it all.
