Subject: In my palace deep, Lyca lies asleep

On Lyca.com, on some of the dots it has numbers.

One says something like this:

"Continue on the highway for seven (7) miles..."

It says a number then has the actual number in parenthesis.

LYCA website

On the last right dot, where it says "start digging"it also says "questions? write lyca at quo . org" on the bottom left.

So I went to this website: http://quo.org/ (aka Quo.org)

All it says on the website is "email status at quo dot org" (at = @)

Aparently If you send an email to lyca@quo.org

You get a reply saying:
"I am NOT Cortana and do not ask me again about UFO's the site has nothing to do with the crash."

Below where it says "start digging" on lyca.com it says "questions? write lyca at quo . org"

Quo.org just says "email status at quo dot org"

Doing some DNS digging, both those sites belong to the same guy in Oregon.

Also, the information on those pages says all the pages expire within the next month and a half. I'm still not sure whether or not this actually has anything to do with Halo. The same guy also runs a site (hurttprize.org) that seems more or less legit - mentioned in a lot of blogs. And the creation date for lyca.com was Jan. 7th, 1998.

On the other hand, there is a 7 in that date... Also, if he put the site up that long ago as an "experiment in web design" as he told the Marathon Story Page guys - http://marathon.bungie.org/Story/newmar-apr01a.html - why would he leave the site up for seven years and keep updating it every so often (last update, the "start digging" page - August 29, 2005) but not change anything substantial. The page has looked nearly exactly like that since at least 2001. He's received plenty of emails from crazy Bungie fans - why wouldn't he take the site down or put a disclaimer that his site has nothing to do with Halo if he's on the level? Curiouser and curiouser.

Subject: In my palace deep, Lyca lies asleep

Before Reading: Note: These posts are all jam packed with info, if you want to know whats going on, read all of them.

This line is in both the fifth cortana letter and a poem by some guy whose name i forgot. My point of this is that I looked up the actual poem, and it talks about a lion coming to lyca's parents and telling them that in his palace deep, lyca lies asleep. So, i researched a lions palace, and came up with the Palace of the Lions at Alhambra. In this palace there is a "hall of the two sisters" does that mean that lyca may have a sister?

for more info. visit lyca.com

You do know that Lyca has nothing to do with Bungie, and this has already been explored and the creator of Lyca said that it was just something he did about 8 years ago. No relation to Bungie whatsoever.

on Lyca.com, the dotts spell Lyca in brail. Probably not important, but just decided to share the information just in case.

Going with the above statement, since Dr. Hasely let ONI clone her brain to make Cortana, she is, in effect, her mother. And since Cortana is obviously rampant (there are subtle hints in BOTH Halo games, and you can choose a RAMPANCY symbol in Halo 2, and the whole ilovebees thing was about Rampancy) then her other half--her father--WOULD HAVE been Durandal. Hence the saying, I would have been your daddy.

Actually, I think the saying comes from Sergeant Johnson's line from Attack on the Control Room: "I would have been your daddy, but the dog beat me over the fence."

Can someone please tell me why this was moved to the flood?
I'm pretty sure it's on topic with Halo 3.

I think the reference to Lyca in the Cortana letters refers to the fact that this poem is generally viewed as symbolizing the loss of innocence, (I read alot of interpretations on it last night,) and you see in the poem that Lyca loses her innocence at 7. It's probably not a coincidence that AI's tend to go rampant after 7 years. While Cortana is not 7 years old yet, she does mention in the books that digesting all the information from Halo and the Covenant flagship will likely cut years off of her life.

edit- oh and from the first post of this thread, if I remember correctly from my Muslim Spain class, Alhambra is the palace itself and their is a very famous fountain of the lions there. So thats probably why googling palace and lions together gave you Alhambra. Doubt there is any relation to Halo though.
